Work Location : Hyattsville, MD 20785 โ€“ Onsite

Description:

Acquires, installs/configures, operates, and maintains computer hardware, software, and related infrastructure.
WMATA currently uses Trapeze and HASTUS for Bus and Rail scheduling, bidding and daily operations. This role is for a systems administrator who will acquire, install/configure, operate, and maintain computer hardware, software, and related infrastructure. It is essential for this resource to be able to learn HASTUS to provide ongoing support to the Bus and Rail Scheduling Operations teams.

Duties/Responsibilities:

โ€ข Ability to learn HASTUS to provide ongoing support to the Bus and Rail Scheduling Operations teams.

โ€ข Review security scan results and develop steps to mitigate vulnerabilities at the server and application levels.

โ€ข Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of computer hardware and software and related infrastructure.

โ€ข Expertise in current cloud technologies such as Azure and OCI; ability to assist and lead teams in migrating existing environments to the cloud.

โ€ข Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to agency policies, standards, and guidelines.

โ€ข Systems administration, engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation.

โ€ข Performs daily system monitoring. Verifies the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.

โ€ข Reviews system and application logs. Verifies completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

โ€ข Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. Performs daily backup operations and regular file archival and purge as necessary.

โ€ข Creates, changes, and deletes user accounts by request. Provides Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies.

โ€ข Investigates and troubleshoots issues.

โ€ข Diagnoses and recovers from hardware or software failures. Coordinates and communicates with impacted constituencies.

โ€ข Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrades administrative tools and utilities.

โ€ข Configures/adds new services as necessary.

โ€ข Maintains operational, configuration, or other procedures. Performs periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
