Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager - Hassenfeld Children's Hospital, Sala Institute.
In this role, the successful candidate Hassenfeld Children's Hospital at NYU Langone provides the most advanced care for pediatric patients designed around the needs of children and families. Sala Institute for Child and Family Centered Care at Hassenfeld Childrens Hospital is committed to advancing the health and continuously improving the experience of care for children and families. Position Summary:
The Sala Institute is seeking a Project Manager with strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to support a broad and complex portfolio of programs under the direction of the Assistant Director, Child and Family Centered Care and Resilience Programs.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful planning and execution of multiple concurrent projects across the Child and Family Experience portfolio of Sala Institute, including: patient and family engagement initiatives, child and family partnership programs, support services and resilience programs, and cross-campus priorities.
You will be expected to present periodically to clinical and administrative leadership, foster collaborative relationships, and develop key business and operational skills to drive project success. Essential to this role is the ability to manage project dependencies and stakeholder relationships, maintain timely and effective communication, and support the measurement and reporting of program impact to internal and external audiences.
This role reports directly to the Assistant Director, Child and Family Centered Care and Resilience Programs, and operates within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment that values initiative, precision, and partnership.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages multiple concurrent projects, including: development and maintenance of project plans, facilitating work groups, analyses, and understanding of the issues surrounding a project across the span of Sala Institute Child and Family Engagement and Resilience and Support Program portfolio  

• Owns accountability for project momentum across the portfolio. Actively tracks open actions, follows up on outstanding decisions, and ensures workstreams do not stall between meetings or stakeholder touchpoints

• Synthesizes complex information to communicate project deliverables and recommendations to stakeholders. Independently suggests alternatives to work groups and effectively serves as a thought partner with stakeholders by asking probing questions to derive the best possible outcomes

• Supports the development and operational implementation of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives coordinating across clinical, administrative, and technical partners to keep work on track

• Manages workstreams that integrate the family and youth advisor voice, including: advisory council engagement, co-design processes, and the incorporation of family feedback into program design and quality improvement cycles

• Navigates the clinical environment with working knowledge of pediatric care settings, family-centered care principles, and the operational realities of a children's hospital to enable effective partnership with nursing, social work, child life, psychology and medical providers.

• Manages project-level communication with HCH clinical, nursing, and administrative leaders, as well as family and youth advisors, external collaborators, and campus-based operational partners

• Manages, analyzes, and synthesizes program-level data to support reporting to internal audiences (Sala, HCH, NYU Langone Health) and external audiences (donors, academic societies, improvement collaboratives)

• Prepares materials for program status updates, milestone reporting, and leadership presentations; support the Assistant Director in preparing materials for Sala and HCH leadership

• Shares status updates/deliverables for project milestones to Sala and Childrens Services leadership across campuses, with guidance from Assistant Director, Child and Family Centered Care and Resilience Programs

• Involved in relevant planning of both long- and short-term project objectives; anticipate downstream dependencies and proactively surface risks or resource constraints to the Assistant Director

• Effectively communicates rationale for decisions 

• Consistently operates with a clear understanding of when to act independently and when best to reach out to include input from others with broader, more diverse experience

• Brings issues to resolution and escalates issues or concerns to the Assistant Director, project sponsors, and key constituents as appropriate 

• Recognizes the technical, business, and operational impacts of major decisions, and provides analyses or consultation as decision support to leadership

• Effectively communicates and develops a professional level of cooperation across the organization; determining the best approach to drive project success through formal channels and informal networks

• Utilizes current project management methodology most applicable for each project 

• Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations standard processes and incorporates them into the performance of duties

• Relates well to all kinds of people at all levels both inside and outside the organization

• Maintains the Sala Institute team culture by acting as collaborative team member, maintaining a  positive attitude, willingness to work at all levels, and commitment to the team 

• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a A minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in project management working in a healthcare setting and/or healthcare consulting capacity
Experience and/or understanding of hospital operations and hospital patient and family experience work
Complete understanding of a project life cycle methodology, strong judgment, and excellent project management skills
Possesses strong analytical skills
Action-oriented, with experience managing aggressive deadlines and strength across a broad range of technical skills (e.g., highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Effective problem solving skills to assist in detecting potential issues and issue resolution.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present to the target audience.
Demonstrates an ability to exercise discretion, good independent judgment, and independent thinking in selecting the optimal course of action.

Preferred Qualifications:
A graduate degree, preferably in health care administration, business administration, public health, or the equivalent years of experience, is preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $84,577.92 - $109,200.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
