Senior IT DevSecOps Architect Washington, DC – onsite US citizenship required per government contact Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance Type: Multi-Year Contract Open to W2 and C2C Deadline to apply: July 2nd The DevSecOps Architect will play a crucial role in our organization's initiative to develop and deploy an examiner workflow tool to replace and enhance a legacy system leveraging AWS GovCloud services. This position requires a highly skilled professional who can integrate development, security, and operations practices while navigating the unique challenges of government cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, particularly AWS GovCloud, and a deep understanding of security principles and compliance requirements in government IT environments. They will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and efficient cloud infrastructure for multiple environments (e.g., development, testing, staging, production) of the new application. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks, automating processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across teams. The DevSecOps Architect will be instrumental in establishing best practices for cloud-native application development, enhancing our security posture, and enabling agile and efficient operations. ? Qualifications: • At least seven years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or related field • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field • Proficiency in AWS services, particularly within the GovCloud environment • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform) • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) • Proven experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, ECS) • Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Grafana) • Understanding of networking concepts and implementation in cloud environments • Experience with identity and access management in cloud settings • Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., unit testing, automated testing) • Leadership experience and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration • SPLUNK is a plus • Experience working with Federal Agencies and with the NIST 800.53 FISMA standard and process is a plus • At least one of the following or its equivalent: o AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional o Docker or Kubernetes certifications o GitLab Certified Git Associate o GitLab Certified CI/CD Associate o GitLab Certified Security Specialist o HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate Capabilities: • DevOps strategy development and implementation • Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipeline management • Automated testing and test-driven development • Cloud-based infrastructure automation and configuration • Security policy development and implementation • DevOps tools and technology research and evaluation • Containerization and container orchestration • Microservices architecture design and implementation • Automation and orchestration framework design • Cross-functional team collaboration • Documentation and process improvement • System reliability and scalability optimization • Industry standards and compliance knowledge
