Job Summary (Release Engineer – Analytics Cloud Services, Houston, TX)
- Responsible for deployment, release, and maintenance of cloud-based applications/services on Azure and AWS.
- Designs, implements, and maintains automated CI/CD pipelines (with security and quality gates).
- Optimizes pipeline performance and automates repetitive tasks; monitors pipeline health using observability tools.
- Provisions, configures, and manages cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Implements blue-green or canary deployments for critical apps; ensures infrastructure consistency and prevents environment drift.
- Leads and executes release engineering tasks, ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Acts as gatekeeper in the infrastructure/application lifecycle, safeguarding code integrity and quality.
- Maintains release documentation and versioning practices.
- Collaborates closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth releases.
- Communicates effectively with stakeholders regarding release status, issues, and improvements.
- Mentors junior engineers and supports global cloud architecture initiatives.
- Proposes and implements innovative solutions to enhance release processes.
- Requires 2+ years of cloud deployment experience, 2-5 years in release management/CI-CD pipeline optimization, and 5 years in release engineering/cloud infrastructure leadership.
- Must hold AZ104 (Azure Administrator Associate) or AWS equivalent certification; AZ900, AZ204, and HashiCorp Terraform Associate recommended.
