POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist contacts clients and collects outstanding payments, striking a balance between maintaining trustful relationships and ensuring timely payments.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Monitor accounts on a daily basis
  • Identify outstanding account receivables
  • Investigate historical data for debts and bills
  • Take actions in order to encourage timely payments
  • Process payments and refunds
  • Resolve billing issues
  • Resolve customer credit issues
  • Contact clients and discuss their overdue payments
  • Update account status records
  • Prepare and present reports on collection activities and progress
  • Record information about the financial status of customers and the status of collection efforts
  • Locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts by mail, telephone, or personal visits to solicit payment
  • Arrange for debt repayment or establish repayment schedules, based on customers' financial situations
  • Advise customers of necessary actions and strategies for debt repayment
  • Answer customer questions regarding problems with their accounts
  • Notify credit departments, order merchandise repossession or service disconnection, and turn over account records to attorneys when customers fail to respond to collection attempts
  • Sort and file correspondence and perform miscellaneous clerical duties, such as answering correspondence and writing reports

Skills, knowledge and abilities:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of billing procedures
  • Knowledge of various collection techniques
  • Contact clients and discuss their overdue payments
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and databases
  • Comfortable working with targets
  • Knowledge of collection laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Full-time on-site position located at our company's headquarter offices in Boca Raton, Florida.
