Job description

We take play seriously. We're looking for curious adventurers ready to find their party, fueled by imagination and drive to build what's never been built before. At Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, you'll collaborate with passionate teams to reimagine our iconic brands and create experiences that spark joy, connection, and community through the magic of play. This is your chance to shape legendary play that lasts a lifetime.
At Hasbro, our mission is to entertain and connect generations of fans through the wonder of storytelling and exhilaration of play. We're looking for adventurous and curious people who want to explore, experiment, and innovate to come up with the best ideas. Our culture has inspired our diverse team of highly skilled, highly creative, and highly committed individuals for 100 years and we believe the best is yet to come.
About the Role
The Direct-to-Consumer platform at Hasbro connects fans worldwide through efficient digital commerce experiences. As Principal Software Engineer, you'll define the platform's technical architecture, spanning Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Salesforce OMS, SAP, Braintree, and Hasbro's identity systems, and direct how AI and automation get incorporated across the commerce lifecycle, from customer engagement to fulfillment.
As a senior technical leader, you'll architect systems, support engineers, and guide teams across storefront, OMS, data, and fulfillment areas, so technology supports every fan interaction at scale.
What You'll Do
Architect the platform
  • Define the architecture for Hasbro's global Salesforce-based commerce stack, integrating commerce, OMS, data, and fulfillment systems.
  • Build integration frameworks connecting SAP, Braintree, Avalara, and other enterprise systems.
  • Design event-driven architectures that support product drops, crowdfunding, digital items, and global fulfillment.
  • Set data and AI-ready design standards so systems support real-time insights, personalization, and automation.

Lead AI and automation projects
  • Identify and implement AI/ML use cases across the platform: personalization, search, merchandising, customer support automation, fraud detection, and fulfillment prediction.
  • Automate operational workflows to reduce manual work in order management, customer service, and fulfillment coordination.
  • Partner with Data Science to move models from prototype to production within core platform experiences.
  • Set standards for responsible AI adoption, including monitoring and ongoing model improvement.

Raise the engineering bar
  • Guide engineers across disciplines toward sound architecture decisions and strong technical craftsmanship.
  • Define reliability goals, telemetry, and observability standards that hold up during major product launches.
  • Champion infrastructure-as-code and continuous delivery across the DTC organization.
  • Use automation to strengthen testing, alerting, and deployment - and to improve day-to-day developer efficiency.

Mentor and collaborate across teams
  • Mentor engineers and tech leads across front-end, OMS, data, and platform teams.
  • Work closely with Product, Data Science, CX, and Design to connect technical decisions to business and fan outcomes.
  • Bring technical mentorship to cross-functional projects to keep delivery quality consistent.
  • Help teams build data-driven, automation-first habits into how they solve problems.

Shape what's next
  • Evaluate emerging technologies - composable architecture, event streaming, generative AI, predictive fulfillment - and bring the right ones into the platform.
  • Lead technical design reviews and contribute to enterprise architecture decisions.
  • Set the platform principles that guide Hasbro's DTC roadmap toward a more automated, data-driven commerce experience.

What You'll Need
Required:
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in large-scale eCommerce or platform systems.
  • Verified background building and connecting Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Salesforce OMS, and enterprise middleware.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
  • A track record of mentoring engineers and supporting their career growth.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to leadership.

Preferred:
  • Experience with SAP, Braintree, or complex order management systems.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML or automation frameworks into production systems.
  • Experience influencing senior collaborators and driving alignment across teams.
