Job Summary

The Post-Harvest Supervisor is responsible for the overseeing of all processes in the department including but not limited to harvest, destem, properly weighing, tracking and inspecting all cannabis flower intended for packaging. They are also responsible for communicating to the Lead(s) to follow through with the tasks assigned to the team by the Processing Manager. This position is an integral piece of the harvest, cure, and trim process at Ayr Wellness, focusing on effective teamwork, ensuring that all numbers are correctly reported in the state mandated inventory tracking system, and only the highest-quality, well-manicured cannabis flower is packaged for sale to our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring a Safe working environment by performing Safety Audits and Safety Corrective Actions as required.
  • Responsible for the adherence and management of the AYR Operating System (AOS) within the assigned area.
  • Responsible for assisting the Post-Harvest Manager in organizing, planning, and implementing strategies for the department.
  • Responsible for auditing Leads' inspection and weighing of cannabis flower, stems, stalks, and fan leaves and input into the state mandated and internal tracking software system(s).
  • Responsible for the scheduling of labor and management of daily adjustments to ensure production requirements are achieved.
  • Responsible for the Quality Control of their assigned area ensuring a clean, seedless, pest, and pathogen product is produced.
  • Reports any instances of identifiable occurrence of mold, mildew, seeds, pests, or pathogens to the Post-harvest Manager.
  • Responsible for tracking attendance and performance of their assigned team members. Aids in the hiring process for post-harvest.
  • Responsible for scheduling training and feedback to the team member during their training period.
  • Assists with any other tasks related to the post-harvest process as necessary.
  • Allocates duties to the Post-Harvest Leads and Technicians as needed.
  • Fosters a positive work environment, treating everyone with dignity and respect while perpetuating a curiosity for "everything cannabis".

Qualifications

  • Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agencies.
  • Able to pass all background checks/fingerprinting as required by state cannabis agencies.
  • Able to provide valid badging/credentials as required by state cannabis agencies.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong desire to produce a high-quality product.
  • Ability to multi-task repeatedly with exceptional attention to detail with minimal errors.
  • Excellent PC Skills and expertise in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proven record of boosting team performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • Must be dependable, professional, and confident. And be able to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Education

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Bachelor's degree in a horticultural or agricultural field or demonstrated experience in horticulture or agricultural production preferred.

Working conditions

  • The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
  • The working area may be odorous at times and loud due to fans and filtration systems, fluctuating between cold and warm temperatures.

Physical requirements

  • Sitting, standing, and walking motion/movement will be required.
  • Lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds may be required.
  • Constant movement and use of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  • Must be able to inspect and detect quality defects.
