Position Summary:
Key Holders are responsible for opening and closing a store and performs other administrative duties in a retail setting. Their main duties include assisting customers when needed, making sure the store is organized, neat and tidy and ensuring the alarm system is working properly.
Job Functions
โ€ข Ensure company/store policies and procedures are communicated in a timely manner and adhered to accordingly
โ€ข Partnering with store management, coach all store staff on inventory management best practices as they apply to each person's job duties
โ€ข Partnering with store management help to train employees to maintain and update plan-o-grams throughout the store
โ€ข Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management
โ€ข Assist in the training and development of peers
โ€ข Open and close registers
โ€ข Responsible for counting money and making bank deposits while manager on duty
โ€ข Protect company assets by following all loss prevention procedures; train staff on same
โ€ข Maintain an open and positive relationship with store management team
โ€ข Address all safety concerns immediately
โ€ข Report all incidents and accidents immediately and complete online report form
โ€ข Update store management team about the progress of the store and staff on a regular basis
โ€ข Actively participate in daily huddle meetings
โ€ข Ensure all receiving is completed in compliance with company procedures to maintain an accurate inventory
โ€ข Review daily, W.E.A.D. (Walk Every Aisle Daily), appearance of in-store and window displays and end caps and oversee necessary changes to improve overall presentation
โ€ข Monitor all store transfers and expedite all outstanding transfers
โ€ข Responsible for opening and closing the store and securing all store assets
โ€ข Process damaged and defective goods in a timely and accurate manner
โ€ข Be a positive, consistent, and respectful role model; communicate positively regarding store management and company strategies; develop and support a positive attitude toward Costello's Ace Hardware
โ€ข Use the E.C.E.T. (Every Customer, Every Time) process with EVERY customer interaction
โ€ข Be "customer ready" whenever you are on the stage/sales floor
โ€ข Recommend related items when appropriate and executes S.A.L.E.S. process
โ€ข Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
โ€ข Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards
โ€ข Participate in the processing of new shipments and help the team to keep the receiving and back stock area clean and organized
โ€ข Know the proper way to answer the telephone
โ€ข Be alert for possible merchandise losses. Protect all company assets and report any missing or damaged merchandise to your supervisor
โ€ข Advise store management of any pricing errors
โ€ข Be proficient at executing all store services, such as mixing paint, cutting glass, pipe, screen repair, and keys
โ€ข Ensure all shipments are packed out in its proper home and all overstock is away
โ€ข Follow and enforce all policies in the company handbook
โ€ข Complete other duties as assigned
