As a Senior Program Manager in the New Product Introduction (NPI) Device Repair team, you will join us in shaping the future of repairable devices and service offerings. You will be part of Microsoft Device Operations (MDO) and lead cross-functional teams in the development of NPI programs such as Surface and Xbox. This will require close collaboration across teams encompassing development, NPI, operations, supply chain, finance, IT, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Technical Leadership: Lead technical efforts for New Product Introduction (NPI) with a focus on repairability and service. Prioritize resources for critical issues, identify program risks, create mitigation plans, and develop innovative engineering solutions to address technical challenges.
  • Manage Risk: Oversee risk management in NPI, including launch risk management. Conduct risk identification, assessment, scenario planning, and develop strategies for risk mitigation or recovery. Communicate risk management activities and drive the development of new process technologies.
  • Drive Product Launches: Guide the organization through new product launches by coordinating development, planning, and execution of a comprehensive cross-functional device services launch strategy. Manage schedules from product inception to hand-off to the sustaining business.
  • Collaborate on Field Repair Strategy: Work with hardware development teams early in the product cycle to define and align field repair strategies, as well as design and manufacturing requirements for repairs and spare parts.
  • Manage COGS Budgets: Oversee Device Services Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) budgets in collaboration with finance and business teams, including financial planning for spare parts across engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field AND 4+ years experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, program management, hardware development, or consumer electronics
    • OR equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations or a related area.

Preferred Qualification:
  • Master's Degree Engineering, Supply Chain Management, OR related field AND 6+ years experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, program management, hardware development OR consumer electronics
    • OR Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Supply Chain Management, OR related field AND 8+ years experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, program management, hardware development, OR consumer electronics
    • OR equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations
  • Experience with Microsoft hardware products or similar high-volume consumer electronics.
  • Experience with the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to field service enablement.
  • Experience in hardware service business, implementation of repair and spare parts.
  • Extensive experience in project management, preferably in consumer electronics or related fields.
  • Proven record of leading teams and delivering successful product launches.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

NPI Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
