What You will Do:

  • Conduct full Bill of Materials (BoM) scrubs to identify at-risk and End-of-Life (EOL) components; recommend and qualify alternate components.
  • Perform documented Change Impact Analysis (CIA) on component changes, evaluating form, fit, and function impacts with associated risk ratings.
  • Author and execute complete ECO packages including updated schematics, PCB layouts, CAD models, and validation plans.
  • Coordinate with firmware/software teams to validate releases against hardware configurations.
  • Conduct 8D Failure Analysis investigations including containment actions, root-cause identification, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, and design teams to drive permanent resolution of field and production failures.

What You Will Bring:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).

Experience: 5+ years of experience in hardware sustaining engineering, product engineering, or test engineering in a consumer electronics or hardware manufacturing environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, Cadence OrCAD, or equivalent)
  • Experience with CAD/3D modeling tools for electromechanical design
  • Strong understanding of electronic component specifications, datasheets, and lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with firmware/hardware integration and embedded systems
  • Understanding of quality tools: 8D, FMEA, fishbone diagrams, 5-Why analysis
  • Familiarity with IPC standards for PCB design and manufacturing
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems and formal change management processes
  • Experience with DFM/DFT (Design for Manufacturing/Test) principles

Pay Range: $110000 - $120000.

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements:

This role is considered an on-site position located in New York
•    You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
