Job description

Looking to gain valuable experience through a meaningful Electrical/Hardware Engineering Summer Internship? Look no further than TSI (www.tsi.com)!

At TSI, you'll be supporting a real project, getting real engineering experience!

  • Work side by side with engineering professionals to learn to contribute on tasks supporting new product development and sustaining engineering
  • Develop an understanding of the product sustaining and development environment and how you will apply the skills you've acquired through your education
  • Work with market-leading technology to develop specialized test and measurement instruments with applications spanning across many industries
  • Gain valuable experience with development tools used to support electronic design such as simulation software, firmware development, and others
  • Gain experience and exposure to design for electromagnetic, safety, and wireless compliance for CE, UL, and global market access

 At TSI, here's just some of the experience opportunities:

  • Electrical Circuits - sensitive analog through digitization via MCU peripheral interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, LVDS, ADCs, DACs, etc.)
  • Soldering techniques for commonly used PCA components of all varieties and circuit rework techniques
  • Exposure to PCA schematic capture and layout design tools
  • Oscilloscope probing techniques and experience                                                
  • Circuit design simulation tools and modeling to confirm circuit operation
  • Embedded Systems engineering experience using NXP and ST-Micro MCUs
  • Use of a pre-scan/pre-certified EMC lab to test products to compliance requirements
  • Embedded software programming development, test, and debug                                           
  • Hardware level testing of product function

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Major/Program: Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • CUM 3.0 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale)
  • Student Status:  Currently enrolled as a full-time student
  • Computer skills including proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, OneNote, Adobe PDF, C or C++ programming language
  • Data analysis / mathematical proficiency
  • Comfortable in an office and lab environment
  • Strong desire to learn, self-motivated, and responsible
  • High attention to detail, focused and organized

Pay & Benefits:

  • 12-week (approx.) internship program - Summer 2027
  • This position pays an hourly rate of $22.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
  • Interns work approximately 40 hours each week during the internship
  • Eligible for time off in compliance with applicable state laws
