Job description

The Hardware Design Engineer that will be responsible for the design and development of various embedded systems, including both hardware and some firmware design. The engineer will have a detailed knowledge of the product functional specification, will conduct design reviews, and resolve product design issues. The candidate should have minimum 2-5 years of engineering work experience and an understanding of embedded hardware and software design.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing/reviewing project work plans
  • Generate functional specifications based on product requirements
  • Generate design specifications
  • Resolve issues found during the product development cycle
  • Participate in design reviews

To succeed in this role, you will need to have the following skills and experience:

  • Embedded hardware and software design
  • Working understanding of CAN and LIN vehicle networks
  • Knowledge of embedded RTOS and / or Embedded Linux systems
  • Experience with embedded systems debugging (JTAG/UART/Oscilloscopes/Logic Analyzers)
  • Experience with electronics CAD systems (Altium experience a plus)
  • PCB design of complex multi-layer circuit boards
  • Github experience required
  • Familiarity with CAN analysis software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Friendly and flexible team player
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 2+ years of experience in embedded hardware and/or software design
  • 2+ years of vehicle network (CAN/LIN) experience
  • This position is located in our Farmington Hills, MI office, this is not a remote or hybrid position. No relocation assistant provided.
