Develop, improve and troubleshoot electronic/electrical hardware used in an array of engine and machine systems, including developing product requirements, circuit analysis and simulation, electronic component selection, schematic/layout design and review, and platform verification and validation. Partner with suppliers including the manufacturing plan and process development. Execute complex analysis work, identify design problems and root cause, and resolve design problems. Transition from individual contributor to team leadership and focus on technical delivery. Decisions may affect project teams and the delivery of projects. Work closely with engine and machine system/subsystem team members to understand application requirements and performance needs to develop platforms effectively. Coordinate activities with appropriate teams as the platform includes embedded software as a key deliverable for some components. Demonstrate knowledge of analog and digital hardware design and product applications to develop robust solutions and assess application suitability as well as a thorough understanding of mechanical and environmental requirements for applications. Maintain and support through the platform lifecycle including obsolescence management for current production hardware, in addition to new development. Focus on quality through simulation, analysis, verification, and validation testing at the component level, subsystem, and system level. Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting and analysis skills to resolve complex development and field issues and to improve overall performance and cost. Ensure completion of projects with major focus on delivery. Provide technical leadership and potentially train new staff members. Provide technical status updates, component reviews, and work closely with internal and external teams in multiple geographic locations and organizations. Keep up with industry trends and new technology breakthroughs and continuously learn through self/internet study. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 10 years of experience as an Electronics Design Engineer, Hardware Design Engineer, Digital Design Engineer, Analog Design Engineer, Power Supply Design Engineer, Circuit Design Engineer or a related occupation.
