Alton River Dragons Baseball - Merchandise Intern
Who We Are:
We are the Alton River Dragons Baseball team, a Prospect League summer collegiate wood- bat baseball league. We believe in providing a great workplace for our Staff and Interns, while providing a first class entertainment experience to our guests.
Merchandise Intern:The Alton River Dragons are seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Merchandise Intern to assist in the Retail and Online Merchandise Sales for both home RiverDragons games as well as online sales from our website. This position will gain hands on experience in all areas of merchandising and retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, sales analysis and trends, retail sales, and customer service.
Our Merchandise Intern will ensure that all fans have a great experience at the ballpark and with seamless online sales. They will be responsible for pre game set up of the merchandise operation as well as an organized close up of the merchandise operation. This position runs from late May- Early August, and our Merchandise Intern must be available for all River Dragons home games.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Monitor all online orders to make sure all orders are fulfilled in a timely manner
  • Ensure that for all game day operations we have correct amount and sizes of all merchandise items
  • Maintain highest quality standards for visual appearance of the merchandise operations
  • Perform bi weekly reviews to make sure all physical and online inventories match
  • Develop promotional calendar for driving additional sales opportunities
  • Analyze online sales trends and provide sales recaps every week
  • Provide excellent customer service to our fans and customers
  • Forecast item level of inventory needs
  • Ability to perform other game day duties if needed
  • Assist with stadium set up and clean up
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to work flexible scheduled hours including nights and weekends
  • Comfortable interacting with all different members of the River Dragons organization as well as outside sources, including sponsors and City Staff Knowledge or experience in areas of retail operations and ecommerce
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs or more, bend and reach
  • Ability to stand and move around for long periods of time
  • Strong time management skill and attention to detail
