Job description


 

We are seeking an experienced IT Asset Management (ITAM) Expert to join our Technology team. This role is critical in maturing our ITAM practice, optimizing asset lifecycle processes, and ensuring effective governance of hardware and software assets. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform, specifically Hardware Asset Management (HAM Pro) and Software Asset Management (SAM Pro) modules, along with a strong understanding of ITAM best practices and process transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full lifecycle management, including process mapping, of IT assets-including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
  • Maintain and improve the accuracy of IT asset data.
  • Analyze data to ensure compliance with software licensing agreements, utilization monitoring, and renewal tracking.
  • Subject matter expert (SME) for ServiceNow HAM Pro & SAM Pro functionality, configuration, and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain asset-related workflows, automation, and reporting dashboards within ServiceNow.
  • Partner with the ServiceNow team to implement new features, resolve issues, and streamline processes.
  • Define, document, and improve ITAM processes, policies, and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
  • Partner closely with procurement, security, finance, IT operations, and support teams to align asset management practices.
  • Provide reporting and insights to leadership regarding asset health, compliance risks, spend optimization, and lifecycle forecasting.
  • Lead and mentor ITAM team members and stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • 6+ years of hands-on ITAM experience, with direct responsibility for hardware and/or software asset management.
  • Proven expertise with HAM Pro and SAM Pro modules, specifically within ServiceNow.
  • Experience process mining, transformation, mapping, and documentation.
  • Strong understanding of ITAM best practices, including lifecycle management, discovery, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

 

Preferred, not required

  • Certifications such as:
    • Hardware Asset Management Fundamentals - ServiceNow
    • Software Asset Management Fundamentals - ServiceNow
    • Certified of IT Asset Disposition (CITAD) - IAITAM
    • Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP) - IAITAM
    • Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) - IAITAM
    • Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) - IAITAM
    • Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) - IAITAM
  • Experience with CMDB processes and relationships.
  • Familiarity with ITIL foundations or other IT service management (ITSM) frameworks.
