Job description

Dedham Health and Athletic is looking to hire innovative, energetic, and hard-working role models to create the best summer ever!
Camp Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm (actual shifts will vary)
Camp Dates: 6/8/26 (Mon) - 8/28/26 (Fri) - (actual start/end date will vary) (additionally, an orientation/CPR training date)
*****Must be available to work until August 28th, 2026******

We are primarily seeking motivated high school students who enjoy working with kids and are looking for a fun and active summer job.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working with youth (or experience being a camp counselor at any type of camp)
  • Previous experience in theater, drama, or performing arts is preferred but not required (either professionally or through education).
  • Previous experience with LEGO Building or related creative construction activities is preferred but not required (ex. robotics, architecture).
  • Must be 16+
  • Able to work outside for 8 hours a day in a variety of summer weather conditions
  • Emotionally mature, responsible, and punctual
  • Team player and willing to work hard
  • Outgoing, assertive and friendly
  • Ability to take direction from leaders
  • Ability to take initiative
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create a magical summer for campers by guiding them through new activities and creating an environment where they can build new friendships.
  • Redirect campers to follow camp-appropriate behavior.
  • Maintain rules for safety.
  • Be a role model. We expect our camp staff to use child-appropriate language and model important life skills such as a growth mindset, kindness, and curiosity.
  • Actively participating with the campers at all times.
  • Help campers keep track of their personal possessions (water bottles, backpacks, shoes, etc.).
  • Follow a schedule and keep structure in your group.
