Job Description:

Overview

The incumbent in this position is responsible for all the following operations: sound, lighting, and video for the Event Center, Event Lawn, Hard Rock Cafe, and Casino floor. Under the direction of the AV Manger, the incumbent performs the duties as necessary for the safe and efficient operations of entertainment events, stage operations, showroom procedures, and all other related entertainment venues / areas such as lounges in accordance with corporate policy and Gaming / Lottery Commission Regulations.

(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

  • Prepare audio, lighting, and video systems for all live events from setup, operation, and tear down.
  • Maintain and repair consoles, speakers, lightings, cables, video equipment, and any related production items.
  • Previous working knowledge/experience of controlling and operating audio, lighting, and/or video equipment during live performances.
  • Perform installation and troubleshooting tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, and tone generators
  • Safely use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner, solder and crimping connection cables.
  • Full understanding of electrical principles and drawings, stage plots, and computer literacy.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of equipment, including lights, rigging, control systems, and related accessories.
  • Familiar with basic rack wiring and installation knowledge/experience
  • Strong PC application background (Windows/Adobe/Apple)
  • Q-SYS control operation and DSP setup and programming a plus,
  • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.
  • Perform work regularly and predictably and other duties as they are assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNTIONS

  • Attend any seminars or training events as requested and needed

Requirements

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

High School Diploma or trade school certificate and a minimum of two (2) years as a production technician performing similar duties or a combination of education and experience. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):

  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming/Lottery regulations
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Ability to read and comprehend industry periodicals, artist riders, detailed reports, memos, or letters.
  • Ability to perform public speaking.
  • Ability to read and understand all Hard Rock Casino policies and procedures.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Deep knowledge of lighting equipment, including moving lights (e.g., Vari-Lite, Robe, Clay Paky), static lights, LEDs, follow spots, and other specialized concert lighting gear. Familiarity with industry-standard control systems (e.g., MA Lighting, Avolites, ETC).
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required.

  • Must be able to work standing for long periods of time in different environments
  • Must be able to continuously maneuver around the office and property, often standing for long hours.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • This position spends time on the casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, and the severity of which depends upon guest volume
  • Must be comfortable with working at heights more than 4’ and able to do so safely and efficiently
  • Must be comfortable with working within a smoking environment when needed
  • Must be willing to work in drastic climate conditions with prolonged exposure to the elements
  • Must be able withstand strobing lights and smoke machines
