Job description

Harbor is seeking a Facilities Assistant to join the team in Toledo! This role supports facility operations through routine maintenance, basic repairs, and general upkeep. This position plays a key role in maintaining safe, clean, and functional environments.
Position is full-time. 40 hours per week.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to carry out ongoing facility upkeep tasks as assigned.
  • Must be capable of inside and outside painting and grounds keeping.
  • Must be able to move and carry heavy objects including furniture and equipment. Must be dependable, punctual and able to follow directions as assigned.
  • Must be flexible in scheduling work hours.
  • Must remain up to date on annual Defensive Driving for 15-Passenger Vans training requirement.

Licensure and Certifications:
  • Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and show proof of personal auto insurance policy to be deemed insurable with Harbor's vehicle insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • General maintenance experience of 1-3 years.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of Harbor facilities, inside and outside.
  2. Assists maintaining the grounds of all Harbor facilities.
  3. Assists in light bulb replacement, and other minor facility tasks.
  4. Assists in moves of furniture and equipment.
  5. Assists as needed with snow/ice removal from Harbor location sidewalks, steps and parking lots in a timely manner as needed.
  6. Runs errands related to maintenance and office set-up/moves.
  7. Transports vehicles for vehicle maintenance.
  8. Assists in preparing areas for improvements such as carpet removal and minor demolition.
  9. Performs interior and exterior painting as assigned. Assists maintenance staff as needed.
