Job description

This position is for 3rd Shift. The regular work schedule is Sunday from 9:39 PM to 6:21 AM and Monday through Thursday from 10:39 PM to 6:21 AM. If overtime is required, you will be expected to work on Friday night.

Job Description: Forklift Driver

Location: BLG Logistics, Inc. – Ladson I
Reports To: Team Leader / Site Leader
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

Team Members at BLG Logistics support a variety of warehouse operations. While specific responsibilities may vary by department, all Team Members are cross trained to support multiple areas of the facility. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient, accurate, and safe handling of materials across the operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
  • Adherent to company policies and safety standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform a range of warehouse functions including:
    • Loading/unloading trucks.
    • Order picking, packing, repacking, sequencing, labeling.
    • Shipping and receiving
    • Staging and preparing products for shipment (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, vans, or trucks (training available)
  • Conduct preventive maintenance (TPM) on equipment and shipping totes.
  • Transport materials and finished products to designated storage or delivery areas.
  • Clean and organize work areas following 5S standards.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly shut down and locked out when not in use.
  • Dispose of waste materials properly.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure no damaged materials are recieved or shipped.
  • Support physical inventory processes and stock verification.
  • Maintain accurate documentation (e.g., shipping logs, inventory forms, equipment transfers)
  • Communicate effectively with other shifts and team leaders.
  • Manufacture products according to customer demand and forecast.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to maintain a productive, safe, and organized environment.
  • Mandatory overtime may be required, with or without advance notice.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in general labor, construction, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with pallet jacks, forklifts, or other industrial vehicles a plus
  • Ability to manage physical workload and maintain a strong work ethic.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 months of relevant experience preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable

Skills & Knowledge

  • Basic math and reading comprehension.
  • Ability to follow multi-step written and oral instructions.
  • Basic computer and record-keeping skills
  • Understanding of warehouse safety practices and equipment operation
  • Ability to adapt to changing job conditions and perform non-technical tasks.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Forklift certification preferred (on-the-job training available if needed)

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense and follow simple problem-solving techniques in routine situations.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and handling materials.
  • Regular lifting/moving of up to 15 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Overhead work required
  • Visual acuity for close-up tasks and focus adjustment.
  • Reasonable accommodation provided, as necessary.
