We are looking for a Production Planner to join our team. As a key part of our logistics and planning team, you will be responsible for coordinating the Production Build Plan and logistics coordination to satisfy project demand. Do you have what it takes to Be Calspan?


  • Load the Electronic Resource Planning (ERP) system with Bill of Material (BOM) component requirements in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Establish production schedules (routings) for assigned product, with sufficient lead-time to determine in which sequence products and components will be manufactured or purchased to meet planned requirements.
  • Communicate with Project Managers when schedule adherence becomes a concern. Supply sufficient information to determine potential corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain a working schedule that clearly identifies the priority of manufacturing orders (MOs) for the production floor.
  • Notify production of design changes to in-process work orders and understand any concerns on the floor that may jeopardize the schedule
  • Relieve (close) the active MOs upon completion

Compensation and position level commensurate with education and experience.

Required Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, material management, supply chain operations, or related field

OR

  • Associate’s degree in business, material management, supply chain operations, or related field + 1 – 3 years of relevant work experience

OR

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge / Ability:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes
  • Demonstrated planning, organization, and decision-making skills
  • History of clear and effective communication
  • Ability to manage large sets and interpret data
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well within varying degrees of ambiguity
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, time management and data entry skills
  • Microsoft Office skills

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Experience using MRP / ERP systems, preferably CostPoint
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP)
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing techniques
