Job description

Job Summary
Beach Happy is seeking an energetic, naturally entertaining Road Host to serve as one of the on-camera faces of the brand while also functioning as a hands-on member of the content production team.
Road Hosts travel throughout the Gulf Coast and beyond creating authentic, personality-driven content around beaches, destinations, local businesses, events, partnerships, and the people who make these places interesting. This is not a traditional spokesperson or influencer position. Road Hosts are expected to create the moment, capture it, and help turn it into finished content.
The ideal candidate is naturally curious, funny, confident, quick on their feet, and comfortable approaching anyone. Just as importantly, they must be capable of independently shooting and editing their own content. Beach Happy operates with a lean production team, so on-camera talent must also be production capable.
Essential Responsibilities
  • On-Camera Hosting & Content Creation: Host recurring Beach Happy content including beach and destination reviews, interviews, local business features, events, partner segments, road experiences, and other personality-driven formats. Bring energy and personality to planned content while also recognizing spontaneous opportunities worth capturing.
  • Interviews & Audience Interaction: Conduct entertaining, unscripted interviews with locals, visitors, guests, business owners, personalities, and other members of the public. Create natural conversations, improvise comfortably, and know how to turn an unexpected interaction into engaging content.
  • Hands-On Production: Independently shoot content using mobile and mirrorless cameras while capturing clear, usable audio in real-world environments. Be capable of producing complete self-shot segments when a Shooter/Editor is unavailable and assist with capturing other hosts and supporting content when needed.
  • Editing & Same-Day Content: Edit short-form vertical content using CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or comparable software. Take ownership of assigned content from capture through finished cut and work within Beach Happy's fast-turn production environment where content may need to publish the same day it is created.
  • Road & Field Production: Travel throughout the Gulf Coast and on multi-day Beach Happy road trips and destination shoots. Work effectively in changing locations, outdoor environments, beaches, venues, events, and other uncontrolled production settings while remaining flexible as schedules and content opportunities evolve.
  • Events, Activations & Partnerships: Represent Beach Happy at events, tourism activations, partner locations, local businesses, and other brand experiences. Work comfortably with partners while keeping the content entertaining and authentic rather than overly scripted or promotional.
  • Merchandise & Brand Experiences: Participate in Beach Happy mobile studio and merchandise initiatives while on the road, including interacting with customers, supporting sales activity, and identifying opportunities to turn merchandise and customer interactions into engaging content.
  • Community & Brand Voice: Engage with viewers through comments, messages, and conversations surrounding the Host's content. Maintain Beach Happy's positive, fun, family-friendly brand voice, help keep audience conversations productive, and surface interesting user-generated content, personalities, locations, or story opportunities for the team.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Producer, fellow Road Hosts, and Shooter/Editors to execute the production schedule. Hosts should be comfortable shooting one another, assisting with production, accepting creative direction, and stepping outside traditional on-camera responsibilities when the content requires it.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to be engaging, natural, entertaining, and confident in unscripted on-camera environments.
  • Strong conversational and improvisational skills with the confidence to approach and interact with strangers.
  • Must be able to independently shoot AND edit short-form vertical content. This is an essential function of the position, not a preferred skill.
  • Experience with CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or comparable editing software.
  • Working knowledge of mobile and/or mirrorless camera production and the ability to capture usable audio in field environments.
  • Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and social-first storytelling.
  • Ability to work comfortably within a fun, positive, family-friendly brand and use good judgment in spontaneous public interactions.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in heat, sun, sand, and water environments and must be able to swim.
  • Must be able to travel extensively, including multi-day road trips and Tuesday–Saturday schedules, as well as evenings, weekends, events, and seasonal production demands.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Hospitality, tourism, radio, live event, creator, retail/direct sales, or Gulf Coast experience is preferred.
  • An existing regional social media presence or demonstrated experience building an online audience is a plus.
  • Still photography experience is a plus.

Charisma is the entry requirement. Production capability is the employment requirement. Road Hosts must be able to create the moment, capture it, and help turn it into finished Beach Happy content.
