Company Description

Happy Hands Education Center is a unique organization in Oklahoma that serves children, from birth to grade 5 who are deaf and hard of hearing. The center is committed to empowering children to excel in school and in life through comprehensive education, family support, and instilling hope. Deaf Christian Academy (DCA) is our school age department with the vision of adding a grade level each year through high school. Located in Broken Arrow, OK, Happy Hands focuses on creating a nurturing environment for children and their families.


Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Teacher of the Deaf at the Happy Hands Education Center in Broken Arrow, OK. Responsibilities include designing and implementing lesson plans, teaching and supporting the educational development of young students who are deaf or hard of hearing, and fostering an engaging and inclusive classroom environment. The role also includes regular communication with families and colleagues to support student success and collaborating on training programs.


Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Lesson Planning and Teaching, with a proven ability to create and deliver effective and engaging educational content.
  • Proficiency in Education and Training, including experience with early childhood development, deaf education methodologies, or similar fields.
  • Excellent Communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
  • Experience or willingness to work in a Christian-based educational environment and sign a statement of faith amd lifestyle statement

  • ASL (American Sign Language) proficiency is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field required.
  • Current teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Deaf Education is strongly recommended.
