Job description

Adecco is currently assisting a local Customer in their search for Material Handler in New Orleans, LA. This is a great opportunity to further your existing skills as a Material Handler while learning new ones to assist you in your career. Responsibilities for a Material Handler include but are not limited to: 

  1. Receive and unload incoming shipments using a forklift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, or by hand.

  2. Inspect freight for damage, verify quantities received against packing lists, and complete required documentation.

  3. Accurately receive, store, stock, replenish, rotate, and organize inventory within the warehouse.

  4. Operate warehouse equipment including electric pallet jacks, walkie riders, and sit-down forklifts in a safe and efficient manner.

  5. Pick, pack, wrap, palletize, and prepare customer orders for shipment.

  6. Utilize RF scanners and warehouse technology to track inventory and complete transactions.

Candidates for Material Handler must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  1. 0-1 year of warehouse, distribution, or material handling experience preferred.

  2. Experience operating forklifts, RF scanners, inventory management systems, or warehouse equipment is preferred.

  3. Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver large or heavy products while following safety guidelines.
