Summary:
The Material Handler I position is responsible for loading and unloading trucks. Daily use of a sit down forklift is required. Forklift used will range from 5,000lb to 30,000lb lift. This position will maintain a safe and clean workspace.
Primary Job Duties:
  • Load and unload material from trucks.
  • Operate sit down forklift.
  • Proactively communicate issues and work together with Supervisor to identify process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work efficiently to achieve or exceed performance targets for velocity, quality and cost.
  • Understand and follow all ISO and 5S initiatives.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve department and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/ skill.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 year of material handling experience preferred
  • Experience in third-party logistics (3PL) environment preferred
  • Basic personal computer skills
