Job description

We are now hiring for Sewing Alterations Specialist for a manufacturing company in New Braunfels, TX. Please submit your resume to this posting and call our office for more information.

Pay: $19-$21/hr DOE.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm (Some Saturdays as needed).

Key Responsibilities:
Alterations & Sewing:
  • Perform complex alterations, resizing, and structural modifications on finished racing suits.
  • Sew and rework thick, multi-layer technical fabrics (Nomex® or similar).
  • Execute seam repairs, panel replacements, and reinforcement stitching.
  • Reattach zippers, Velcro, patches, and closures to finished garments.
  • Perform detailed hand-sewing when required.

Quality & Precision:
  • Inspect all work to ensure it meets quality and fit specifications.
  • Identify and correct stitching, tension, or material issues.
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency in all alterations performed.

General Production Duties:
  • Operate industrial sewing machines (manual and automatic).
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines.
  • Assist with material cutting and handling as needed.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • 2+ years of industrial sewing or garment alteration experience.
  • Strong experience working with thick or multi-layer fabrics.
  • Ability to perform detailed, high-quality alteration work.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and specifications.

Preferred:
  • Experience with Nomex®, Kevlar®, or similar materials.
  • Background in alterations, tailoring, or technical garment production.
  • Experience in motorsports, uniforms, or protective apparel.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
  • Frequent use of hands for detailed sewing and material handling.
  • Repetitive motion and sustained hand/finger strength required.
  • Standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Work with thick, dense materials requiring physical effort.
