Bring your experience as a Packer Shipping Clerk to Northrop Grumman Defense Systems. We are hiring to support our Armament Business Unit located at our Proving Grounds (TPG) site in Elk River, MN.

Our Elk River site consists of a serene 3,200 acres, with over 20 active buildings, and numerous projects supporting manufacturing, development, and testing for our Defense Systems Division. Our team works to continuously improve, support, and maintain this unique site through a variety of self-directed daily tasks and larger team projects.

SALARY

Per union contract, the pay rate for this position is $33.37 per hour.

JOB STATEMENT/SUMMARY

Performs duties such as: Pulling material, pack and fill orders for delivery onsite. Prepare materials for shipping. Determine routing of material. Receive material, load and unload truck. Inventory parts and place stock in storage.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pulling inventoried material, pack and fill orders for delivery to designated areas
  • Track stock materials in an electronic database
  • Drive flatbed truck
  • Load, unload, and strap material to flatbed truck
  • Assist with setting up and staging product for a variety of tests
  • Help conduct non energetic inventory
  • Performs other duties as receiving merchandise loading and unloading trucks, inventories parts and places stock in storage
  • Complete appropriate material forms and send to designated departments
  • Responsible for transporting classified, DOT packed energetic material, and other products as appropriate

JOB SPECIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • US Citizenship
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years related experience
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Data entry
  • Computer proficient in MS Office and inventory management software (fed-x, UPS, label master software and stencil wheels), CostPoint, Kronos, e-mail, and Excel
  • Used hand tools such as taping and banding machines, postage meters, staple guns and hand trucks
  • License to operate a fork truck

WORK ENVIRONMENT

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Push and pull loaded hand trucks or carts
  • Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and unassisted
  • Ability to climb ladder or stool while carrying packages.
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Moving heavy equipment and carts sometimes weighing as much as 200-500 lbs
