Hand Model information

What are some common challenges hand models face on the job?

Hand models often encounter challenges such as maintaining flawless skin and nail health, as even minor blemishes or imperfections can impact job opportunities. Consistency in hand care routines is crucial, and avoiding activities that could lead to cuts, bruises, or sun damage is part of the daily responsibility. Additionally, hand models must develop the ability to hold precise and sometimes uncomfortable poses for extended periods during shoots, requiring patience and stamina. Working closely with photographers, stylists, and art directors is also common, so strong communication and adaptability are essential for success.

What is the highest paid hand model?

The highest paid hand models can earn several hundred thousand dollars per year, especially those working with luxury brands, high-end jewelry, or advertising campaigns. Top hand models often have extensive experience, excellent skin condition, and may work with agencies that secure high-paying assignments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Hand Model, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Hand Model, you need well-groomed hands, symmetrical fingers, clear skin, and attention to personal care, often with experience in modeling or related fields. Familiarity with posing techniques, industry-standard photography, and sometimes agency representation are typical requirements. Patience, flexibility, and the ability to take direction well are important soft skills for this role. These skills ensure that hand models consistently meet client expectations for close-up product shots, commercials, and advertising campaigns.

What is the difference between Hand Model vs Hand Therapist?

AspectHand ModelHand Therapist
CredentialsNo formal certification required, often a portfolioRequires certification or licensure in occupational or physical therapy
Work EnvironmentPhoto shoots, advertising, fashionMedical clinics, rehabilitation centers
Industry UsageFashion, advertising, product promotionHealthcare, rehabilitation, therapy
Work FocusAppearance and aesthetics of handsRestoring hand function and health

Hand models focus on showcasing hands for advertising and fashion, emphasizing appearance. Hand therapists work in healthcare, helping patients recover hand function through therapy. While both roles involve hands, their credentials, work environments, and industry applications differ significantly.

How much do hand models get paid?

Hand models typically earn between $200 and $1,000 per day, depending on experience, the type of assignment, and the usage rights. Rates can vary widely, with top models commanding higher fees for commercial or high-profile campaigns. Many hand models also negotiate for royalties or usage-based payments for specific projects.

What is a hand model?

A hand model is a professional who uses their hands to display products for photography, commercials, or films. Their hands are often featured in advertisements for jewelry, cosmetics, hand creams, or other items that require close-up shots of hands. Hand models must maintain their hands in excellent condition and may work with agencies or directly with clients. The job often involves holding products, performing specific gestures, or demonstrating how to use items. Attention to detail, patience, and flexibility are important traits for success in this field.

Is 25 too late to start modeling?

Hand modeling is a niche profession where age is less restrictive than in other modeling fields. Many hand models start in their 20s or later, focusing on maintaining well-groomed, healthy hands and good photographic skills. Success depends on appearance, professionalism, and building a portfolio, regardless of age.

Are hand models in high demand?

Hand models are in moderate demand, primarily for advertising, product packaging, and commercial photography. The job requires well-maintained hands, specific measurements, and often involves working in a controlled environment with attention to skin care and presentation.

Job description

About the Role

Eucalyptus / Hims & Hers Canada is looking for a Data Analyst / BI professional to join our small but high-impact Canadian data function. This is a rare opportunity to own analytics for an entire national business unit end-to-end - not a narrow slice of it. You'll work directly with the Lead Data Scientist who owns the full Canadian data stack, as well as the national and international business leaders. You'll get exposure across growth, product, finance, and operations, while collaborating closely with our more mature US analytics team.

This role is built for someone who wants 360-degree ownership early in their career: someone who's excited to understand how an entire business works end-to-end through data, not just execute isolated report requests.

Why this role over a narrower DA/BI job elsewhere: at most companies, a 2-3 year analyst owns one slice of the business and works within an established playbook. Here, you'll own analytics for an entire national business unit and work directly alongside the person building that playbook - with a public company's equity, direct access to a mature US/international analytics team, and exposure to problems (experimentation, retention modeling, light data engineering, finance-adjacent analysis) that typically don't land on someone's desk until several years later in their career. If you're optimizing for how fast you'll grow and how much you'll actually own, not just the number on the offer letter, this role is built for you.

What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting across the business (Looker Studio, Google Sheets, and other tools as needed)
  • Support A/B testing and experimentation - from test design through results interpretation
  • Own cohort and retention analytics for the Canadian subscription business
  • Write and optimize SQL to answer business questions directly from BigQuery
  • Support light data engineering work in Dataform as needed to keep pipelines and data models healthy
  • Partner cross-functionally with Growth, Product, Finance, and Care/Ops stakeholders to translate business questions into metrics and analyses
  • Think systematically about metrics from a business point of view - not just "what's the number" but "why does this number matter and what should we do about it"
  • Collaborate with the US analytics team to learn established best practices and bring them into the Canadian business
What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 2 years of full-time experience in analytics, BI, or a related data role
  • Strong SQL skills (must-have)
  • Working proficiency in Python (must-have)
  • Experience building dashboards and reports (tool-agnostic - Looker, Tableau, Looker Studio, Power BI, etc. all count)
  • Experience with A/B testing / experiment analytics
  • Experience with cohort and retention analysis
  • Comfort with the SQL and basic data engineering skills needed to support DA/BI work (e.g., understanding data models, light pipeline troubleshooting)
  • Experience in using AI tools for analytics and coding (i.e. Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills, especially in a remote, cross-functional, and cross-border environment
  • Ability to connect business context to metrics - you ask "why" before you ask "how"

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in product, finance, acquisition/funnel, retention, or growth analytics
  • Experience with subscription-based business models
  • GCP experience (BigQuery, Dataform, or similar)
Who Will Thrive in This Role
  • You want to understand an entire business inside and out, not just own one dashboard or one metric
  • You're proactive and a fast learner - comfortable defining your own path when there's no existing playbook
  • You communicate clearly and independently in a remote setting, without needing constant hand-holding
  • You're excited to work with and learn from a more mature US team, and to bring that knowledge back to a growing Canadian function
  • You're willing to stretch beyond traditional DA/BI scope into adjacent areas like data engineering and finance-adjacent modeling as the business needs it
Why join Eucalyptus?
  • Make real impact, fast- You'll see your work influencing patient journeys immediately.
  • Global Collaboration- Work with Executives shaping solutions that scale internationally.
  • Cross-functional influence- Lead high impact projects across all areas of business
  • Accelerate your career- We are looking for a future business leader
  • Work with passionate peers- our mission is ambitious, and our culture is supportive.
  • Diverse and Inclusive Culture- focused on inclusivity and purpose
  • Equity, unlimited PTO + company holidays, comprehensive health benefits
