What are some common challenges hand models face on the job?

Hand models often encounter challenges such as maintaining flawless skin and nail health, as even minor blemishes or imperfections can impact job opportunities. Consistency in hand care routines is crucial, and avoiding activities that could lead to cuts, bruises, or sun damage is part of the daily responsibility. Additionally, hand models must develop the ability to hold precise and sometimes uncomfortable poses for extended periods during shoots, requiring patience and stamina. Working closely with photographers, stylists, and art directors is also common, so strong communication and adaptability are essential for success.

What is the highest paid hand model?

The highest paid hand models can earn several hundred thousand dollars per year, especially those working with luxury brands, high-end jewelry, or advertising campaigns. Top hand models often have extensive experience, excellent skin condition, and may work with agencies that secure high-paying assignments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Hand Model, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Hand Model, you need well-groomed hands, symmetrical fingers, clear skin, and attention to personal care, often with experience in modeling or related fields. Familiarity with posing techniques, industry-standard photography, and sometimes agency representation are typical requirements. Patience, flexibility, and the ability to take direction well are important soft skills for this role. These skills ensure that hand models consistently meet client expectations for close-up product shots, commercials, and advertising campaigns.

Rates can vary widely, with top models commanding higher fees for commercial or high-profile campaigns. Many hand models also negotiate for royalties or usage-based payments for specific projects.

What is a hand model?

A hand model is a professional who uses their hands to display products for photography, commercials, or films. Their hands are often featured in advertisements for jewelry, cosmetics, hand creams, or other items that require close-up shots of hands. Hand models must maintain their hands in excellent condition and may work with agencies or directly with clients. The job often involves holding products, performing specific gestures, or demonstrating how to use items. Attention to detail, patience, and flexibility are important traits for success in this field.

Is 25 too late to start modeling?

Hand modeling is a niche profession where age is less restrictive than in other modeling fields. Many hand models start in their 20s or later, focusing on maintaining well-groomed, healthy hands and good photographic skills. Success depends on appearance, professionalism, and building a portfolio, regardless of age.

Job description

Our team and what we'll accomplish together

Private wireless networks are no longer a technology experiment-they're solving real, high-impact problems for Canada's most demanding industries. TELUS is leading this transformation, and we're expanding our footprint from infrastructure into the applications and devices that customers actually need.

Here's the opportunity: We're launching a brand-new partner ecosystem program, and you'll be the architect. This is a true greenfield play-you're not inheriting a playbook, you're building one.

Your mission: Identify and cultivate partnerships with companies that have solutions addressing the most significant business problems in Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, and Logistics. You'll map the white space, find the right partners, develop commercial relationships that work for everyone, and create a thriving ecosystem that positions TELUS as Canada's essential private wireless partner.

This isn't about managing a portfolio of existing deals. It's about designing a market.

What you'll do

  • Partner Identification & Opportunity Sizing - Scout emerging and established technology partners whose solutions directly address critical pain points in your target verticals. Move beyond surface-level fit to understand why a partnership matters-what ROI does it unlock? You'll build a rigorous framework for evaluating and prioritizing partners by strategic and financial impact
  • Relationship Building & Commercial Strategy - Translate partner potential into partnership. Structure commercial agreements that create mutual value-whether that's integration opportunities, go-to-market support, revenue sharing, or channel models. You'll be the connective tissue between partners' business models and TELUS's commercial objectives
  • Portfolio Management & Program Evolution - Own the performance of your partnership cohort. Track metrics that matter (pipeline contribution, customer adoption, partner satisfaction). Deepen relationships with high-performers, course-correct with underperformers, and adapt the program as the market evolves and new players emerge
  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning - Continuously scan the competitive and technology landscape. What solutions are emerging? Which competitors are winning partnerships? How do we stay ahead? Your insights directly inform our partner targeting and go-to-market strategy
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work hand-in-hand with Sales (to co-develop customer plays), Product (to shape how partners integrate), and Marketing (to tell the story of the ecosystem). You're a connector and a strategist-facilitating the conversations that unlock new possibilities
Qualifications

What you bring

  • Strategic Thinking - You can see the forest and the trees. You identify which problems matter most, align teams around shared priorities, and know when to push back on shiny distractions. You're comfortable with ambiguity-this is a new program, so you'll need to bring structure and clarity to undefined space
  • Business Problem-Solving - Whether it's a consultant analyzing customer pain points or an industry operator who's lived in these verticals, you know how to break down complex multi-factor problems into actionable insights. You ask the right questions before proposing solutions
  • Relationship & Influence Skills - You build trust quickly with people who think differently than you do. You're persuasive without being pushy-you can navigate diverging interests and bring stakeholders with competing agendas into alignment. Partners and internal teams alike want to work with you
  • Intellectual Curiosity & Adaptability - You're not afraid of learning on the job. You ask questions, synthesize information quickly, and pivot when the market tells you to. You're passionate about continuous improvement-of the business, of your colleagues, and of yourself
  • Organizational Excellence - You bring structure to chaos without creating bureaucracy. You track what matters, communicate progress clearly, and help your peers understand how to prioritize. People look to you to keep the program moving

Great-to-haves

  • Management consulting or strategy background
  • Experience in telecom, IoT, or industrial technology ecosystems
  • Familiarity with Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, or Logistics verticals
  • Track record of building or scaling partnership programs
