Job description

Position Summary The Cutter will be responsible for processing upholstery production pieces by hand cutting upholstery for Living Spaces designed furniture. Will be responsible for preparing fabrics for clean cuts. This includes spreading fabric layers, removing and avoiding fabric damages before cutting. Responsible to ensure efficient product movement and storage.Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepares fabric for cutting by spreading it out in flat layers, smoothing out creases and checking the fabric for damage or defects.

  • Measure and cut fabric or leather pieces by eyeing it and/or with the aid of patterns or stencils and industrial cutting tools to precise sizes and dimensions

  • Use power and hand tools to cut fabric to fit the framework in furniture assembly

  • Work with high-quality products and leather products

  • Independently and accurately arrange, mark and cut fabric patterns

  • Identify fabric flaws if any and maximize material yield

  • Contribute to the team objectives and work efficiently in order to meet production timeframes

  • Discuss complications or obstacles with manager and brainstorm solutions for increased productivity

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and keep work area in a clean and orderly manner

Qualifications

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 1 year of experience with fabric cutting or related field. Minimum 1 year of experience working within a manufacturing environment. Must have experience using a cutting wheel as well as a utility knife. Knowledgeable about fabric codes including single boarders, one ways, grain lines, material reactions. etc. Working knowledge of power tools and equipment necessary for repair work. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Position Hiring Range

The hiring pay range provides a good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage that Living Spaces expects to pay for the position upon hire. Pay will be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, applicable and relevant skills and abilities, market demand, Company budget, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this page at any time.

Compensation: $19.00 - $25.35

Overtime pay is available for eligible, non-exempt Team Members.Reimbursement for expenses as required by applicable law and Company policy.Retail, Guest Services and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI's.
