Walker Tape is hiring an Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk to join our team!


Walker Tape is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerkto support our Finance & Accounting team. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a process-driven environment, is comfortable with routine accounting tasks, and is eager to grow their accounting skillset over time.

This position offersopportunities to growwithin the accounting department as responsibilities expand and experience increases.

What are the Responsibilities?


Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and process check runs and electronic payments.
  • Ensure invoices are properly coded and approved.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
  • Assist with AP accruals and month-end close activities.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Generate and distribute customer invoices.
  • Apply customer payments and maintain accurate AR records.
  • Monitor aging reports and assist with collections efforts.
  • Communicate with customers regarding billing questions or discrepancies.
  • Support AR reconciliations during month-end close.

General Accounting Support

  • Assist with account reconciliations and documentation.
  • Maintain organized records to support audits and internal reviews.
  • Follow documented accounting processes and suggest process improvements.
  • Support other accounting projects as needed.


Do You Fit the Bill?

Required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or an accounting clerk role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Experience withNetSuiteor similar ERP systems.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to identify and improve accounting processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of desk work involving computer usage.
  • Ability to lift 15-20 pounds at a time when necessary.
