Job description

Hachette Book Group is seeing a National Account Manager responsible for selling children's titles to key accounts such as Mass Retailers, Wholesale Clubs, andReaderlink.

We are looking for a candidate who has a customer-centric mindset, is a strong communicator, and has a proven track record of building excellent working relationships with a variety of stakeholders internally and externally.The ideal candidate is proactive and has an eye for detail. Strong presentation skills, commercial acumen and sales analysis skills are also vital to this highly visible sales role.

The position is based out of our NYC office on a hybrid schedule. Please note our current hybrid model is 3 days in-office, 2 days working from home.Please apply with a cover letter and resume.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Maximizing sales growth on frontlist and backlist titles throughout the year
  • Preparing and presenting all titles to the accounts on a regular basis during seasonal previews, sales calls, and strategy meetings
  • Communicating with the wider sales team and Publishing regarding account activity and strategy and reorders
  • Representing the account at all internal meetings including Launch, Strategy, Sales conference, and sales and marketing meetings
  • Running weekly and monthly sales reports, including point of sale, sell-in recaps, market share updates, and seasonal promotions

  • 3-5+ years of sales experience in an account management role; children's publishing experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience with public speaking preferred
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and meet strict deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Power BI experience preferred
  • The role is NYC based, and the candidate will need to be in the office three days a week as part ofthe hybrid working policy at HBG.

The compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location - talk with your recruiter to learn more.
