Job description

The PT Aide is responsible for assisting the Physical Therapist staff by improving overall efficiency throughout the clinic. This includes responding to patients' requests for assistance during and after their treatment sessions.
Clinic Responsibilities
  • Change sheets and pillowcases between patients
  • Set up e-stim stations with patient electrodes
  • Place patients on modalities per therapist instruction and assist when completed as needed
  • Make Ionto patches for patient use as directed by the therapist
  • Assist therapists with documentation during treatment sessions
  • Assist in making copies or getting exercises for patient's home program
  • Perform exercises with patients under direct supervision and instruction from licensed therapist

Facility Responsibilities
  • Assist with clinic maintenance
  • Assist with preparation for clinic meetings and in-services
  • Keep sheets, towels, blankets, and pillowcases laundered and sorted
  • Keep modality areas stocked with supplies (electrodes, towels, blankets, US gel, alcohol swabs, etc)
    • Removal and appropriate disposal of discharged patients' electrodes
  • Responsible for general cleanliness of treatment areas and gym
    • Wipe down tables, chairs, parallel bars, and exercise equipment as needed
    • Keep silicone cups washed as needed

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Current high school student with good standing or high school graduate
  • Persons interested in pursuing a career in the Physical Therapy profession is beneficial but not required
  • Basic understanding of anatomical terms is beneficial but not required

Experience:
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is beneficial but not required

Skills:
  • Proficient in typing and basic computer knowledge
  • Able to manage time effectively to complete duties in a timely manner
  • Able to communicate openly and effectively with staff and patients
  • Able to be flexible, resourceful, and appropriately solve problems
  • Be able to anticipate therapist's needs throughout treatment sessions

Other Information:
  • Able to work 40 hours within clinic hours of operation:
    • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7:00-5:00
    • Wednesday, Friday 7:00-4:00
