Gym Manager (Boutique Fitness)

Mountain Brook, AL

Overview

We are a faith-driven fitness brand that seeks to change lives through fitness, relationships, and community. We are seeking a Gym Manager who is passionate about serving people, developing teams, building community, and driving meaningful impact through fitness.

This individual will serve as the leader of the gym, responsible for member experience, coach development, membership growth, community engagement, and overall business performance. The ideal candidate is a highly relational leader who thrives in a boutique fitness environment and understands that great coaching, strong relationships, and exceptional service are the foundation of a successful gym.

This is a highly visible leadership position that requires initiative, adaptability, sales acumen, and the ability to inspire both members and staff.


Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of fitness professionals.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new team members.
  • Foster a positive, mission-driven culture centered on service, accountability, and personal growth.
  • Hold team members accountable to performance and service standards.
  • Lead staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development initiatives.

Membership Growth & Community Building

  • Drive membership growth through referrals, community engagement, partnerships, and local outreach.
  • Follow up on leads and convert prospects into long-term members.
  • Build meaningful relationships with members and create a strong sense of community within the gym.
  • Increase retention through exceptional member experiences and personal engagement.
  • Serve as the face of the gym and a trusted leader within the community.

Operations & Business Performance

  • Oversee day-to-day gym operations, staffing, scheduling, and facility standards.
  • Monitor key business metrics related to membership growth, retention, and revenue.
  • Execute promotions, challenges, events, and community-building initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
  • Manage inventory, merchandise, and operational supplies.


Requirements

★ Minimum 3 years of leadership experience within a boutique fitness, personal training, wellness, or member-based fitness environment

★ Strong understanding of functional fitness and coaching methodologies

★ Proven success driving membership growth, referrals, lead follow-up, and member retention

★ Experience leading coaches, trainers, instructors, or member-facing fitness professionals

★ Ability to recognize, develop, and maintain a high-quality coaching experience

★ Strong sales aptitude and ability to confidently guide prospective members toward positive lifestyle change.


Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $50,000–$60,000

Bonus Opportunity: Additional performance-based incentives
