Supervisor: Lower School Division Head

Position Status: This position is a salaried, exempt, full-time, regular, 10-month position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Teaching experience at the elementary level; advanced degree preferred

Demonstrated understanding of:

  • Current best practices in literacy instruction
  • Georgia Math Standards
  • Awareness of instructional strategies, curriculum development and assessment techniques
  • Ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with another lead teacher in the classroom (K3, K4, K5 only)

Create differentiated learning experiences aligned with assessments

Contribute to interdisciplinary curriculum design and student support strategies

Participate in the Lower School professional learning community

Ensure student safety by supervising recess, lunch, and transitions

Provide feedback on and evaluation of students for Admissions

Attend scheduled committee and faculty meetings, both during and after-school

Contribute to the larger school community by working carpool duties, lunchroom duties, and participating in curriculum nights and open houses. We also welcome employees with an interest coaching and sponsoring other extracurricular programs.

In addition to experience and a strong educational background, successful candidates demonstrate a love of working with children, an engaging teaching style, the ability to interact well with parents and colleagues, and a willingness to create and promote an inclusive learning environment.
