Job description

Aegis Personnel Qualifications Standards (PQS) and Rate Training Manual (RTM) Analyst
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate opening for an Aegis Personnel Qualifications Standards (PQS)/Rate Training Manual (RTM) Analyst to support the Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) in Dahlgren, VA.
Job Description:
  • Provides analysis support in the drafting and revising PQS requirements and RTM documentation.
  • Assists in implementation of PQS and RTM requirements introduction as part of USN surface training efforts.
  • Applies operational and system rating expertise in properly categorizing and developing PQS and RTM requirements.
  • Supervises three personnel as a Work Area Task Lead.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 6 years U.S. Navy shipboard experience with current surface combat systems.
  • Must have been an Aegis source rating ratings (Fire Controlman, Fire Controlman Aegis, Gunners Mate, Electronics Technician, Interior Communications, Operations Specialist, Sonar Technician, or Mineman).
  • Must have recent operational experience onboard a U.S. Navy Surface Force ship class (DDG-51, DDG-1000, CG, CVN, LPD, LSD, LCS, LHD and MCM).
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Former shipboard PQS qualifications highly desired
  • Experience in a shipboard training team and/or qualification team desired
  • Previous Afloat or Ashore MTS a plus
Security Requirements:
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a Secret security clearance.
Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal travel required.
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

  • Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), subject to noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions (affect the respiratory system), frequently work in close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways (areas that could cause claustrophobia).
