Job Title: Gunnerโ€™s Mate / Armorer Support
Location: Coronado, CA
Start Date: 1 August 2026 contingent on award
Salary Range: $75,000-$110,000
Clearance: Active SECRET Clearance Required
Job Description:
We are actively recruiting an experienced Gunnerโ€™s Mate / Armorer to assist the Weapons Officer and Weapons Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO) in the day-to-day operations of the LOGSU-1 armory.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in directing and coordinating all activities concerned with handling, storing, and shipping ammunition, rockets, mines, and other explosive components.
  • Process required documents for ammunition issue and receipts to maintain 100% accountability.
  • Prepare schedules for transportation, storage, issuing, and receiving ammunition (specifying magazine/bunker numbers).
  • Process transportation phases for hazardous materials (IMDG, IATA, DOT 49 CFR).
  • Participate in audits and inspections related to ordnance accounting and qualification/certification programs.
Mandatory Qualifications:
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of direct Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA amp;E) experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Armorer.
  • Must have working knowledge of, and processes associated with, the Navy Ordnance Information System (OIS).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with proof of citizenship and hold an active SECRET security clearance.
