Position Description: Truss Production Worker
Essential Functions:
- Assists in preparation of truss assembly by picking, stacking, or sorting truss parts.
- Follows instructions on paperwork to ensure proper materials are being used in the correct location and order.
- May affixproper metal plate by hammering into place.
- Stacks wood or finished product neatly and in proper order for assembly and delivery. Bands product and labels with appropriate job code.
- Maintains working area free of miscellaneious equipment and debris. Sweeps work area at the end of the shift.
- Reports all unsafe working conditions and practices to lead or supervisor.
- Adheres to OSHA requirements and company policies/procedures to ensure safety at all times.
- Regular and predictable attendance during assigned working hours.
Knowledge/Experience:
- 6 months production experience preferred
- Completion of high school/college carpentry or wood shop classes a plus
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to listen, take direction and learn
- Ability to understand, write and read basic English
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and utilize tape measure
- Ability to work with hammer/nail gun/staple gun/power saws
- Work effectively with others in crew and be a team player
- Use Safe work practices
**Hours
**
6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday
Working Conditions:
- Work in outdoor conditions
- Exposure to excessive noise
- Mandatory overtime as required (includes Saturdayโs and Sundayโs)
Physical Requirement:
- Ability to lift up to 75-100 lbs throughout shift
- Must wear personal protective equipment
Ability to perform the following physical actions on a regular basis for 8-10 hours per day:
- Sit
- Stand
- Walk
- Push/Pull
- Squat/Kneel
- Bend/Stoop
- Twist/Turn
- Handle/Grasp
- Reach overhead and outward
Other Requirements:
- Cold & wet weather gear
- Hammer and 30โ tape measure
