Job description

Position Description: Truss Production Worker

Essential Functions:

- Assists in preparation of truss assembly by picking, stacking, or sorting truss parts.

  • Follows instructions on paperwork to ensure proper materials are being used in the correct location and order.
  • May affixproper metal plate by hammering into place.
  • Stacks wood or finished product neatly and in proper order for assembly and delivery. Bands product and labels with appropriate job code.
  • Maintains working area free of miscellaneious equipment and debris. Sweeps work area at the end of the shift.
  • Reports all unsafe working conditions and practices to lead or supervisor.
  • Adheres to OSHA requirements and company policies/procedures to ensure safety at all times.
  • Regular and predictable attendance during assigned working hours.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • 6 months production experience preferred
  • Completion of high school/college carpentry or wood shop classes a plus
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to listen, take direction and learn
  • Ability to understand, write and read basic English
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read and utilize tape measure
  • Ability to work with hammer/nail gun/staple gun/power saws
  • Work effectively with others in crew and be a team player
  • Use Safe work practices

**Hours

**

6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday

Working Conditions:

  • Work in outdoor conditions
  • Exposure to excessive noise
  • Mandatory overtime as required (includes Saturdayโ€™s and Sundayโ€™s)

Physical Requirement:

  • Ability to lift up to 75-100 lbs throughout shift
  • Must wear personal protective equipment

Ability to perform the following physical actions on a regular basis for 8-10 hours per day:
