Main Purpose:

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, movement, storage and distribution of raw materials, components and finished products within the warehouse. This role ensures that production teams have the necessary materials to meet production schedules while maintaining inventory accuracy and following safety protocols.


Essential Functions:

  • Receive, store and distribute materials, parts and products to designated areas
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks or other material handling equipment
  • Ensure materials are delivered to production lines in a timely and accurate manner, including kits
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct cycle counts as needed
  • Collaborate with various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure material, parts and product needs
  • Organize and maintain storage areas to optimize space and accessibility
  • Follow safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and operating equipment
  • Assist in packaging, labeling and preparing shipments for delivery
  • Communicate inventory shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor
  • Keep work areas clean and free from safety hazards
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements:


Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
  • Turning, twisting, bending and balancing
  • Pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years experience in material handling or warehousing in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment
  • Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management procedures
  • Ability to read work orders, shipping documents and material specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to organize and ensure the consistent flow of materials, parts and products
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education and Training:

  • Previous experience with material handling or warehousing for the assembly of generator enclosures
  • Forklift Certification
  • Pallet Jack Certification

Tools, Equipment and Technology:

  • Forklifts, pallet jacks, inventory systems and software etc.

Environmental Conditions:

80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud etc. They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
