Guitar Player / Worship Musician

New Shiloh Christian Center — Melbourne, Florida

New Shiloh Christian Center is seeking a talented and dedicated Guitar Player to join our Worship & Music Ministry team. The ideal candidate will have strong musical ability, a heart for worship, and the ability to support praise and worship services with excellence and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guitar accompaniment during Sunday worship services, rehearsals, conferences, revivals, and special events
  • Support worship leaders, choir members, and musicians with rhythm, lead, and ambient guitar playing as needed
  • Play a variety of musical styles including gospel, contemporary worship, praise & worship, and traditional church music
  • Attend scheduled rehearsals and ministry meetings
  • Work collaboratively with the band and music ministry leadership
  • Follow musical direction while contributing creativity and musical sensitivity during worship flow
  • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and preparedness for all services and events

Qualifications

  • Proficiency on electric and/or acoustic guitar
  • Experience playing in church, gospel, worship, or live band settings preferred
  • Strong understanding of chord progressions, timing, dynamics, and musical transitions
  • Ability to learn songs quickly and adapt during live worship moments
  • Dependable, teachable, and team-oriented
  • Positive attitude and respect for church leadership and ministry standards

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to play rhythm, lead, and ambient worship styles
  • Familiarity with gospel progressions, contemporary worship music, and spontaneous worship flow
  • Experience using pedals, amp modeling, or direct-input systems is a plus
  • Ability to play by ear and/or read chord charts preferred
