What is a guest service agent?

A Guest Service Agent is a front-line hospitality professional responsible for ensuring a positive experience for guests at hotels, resorts, or similar establishments. They typically handle check-ins and check-outs, answer guest inquiries, resolve issues, and provide information about the property and local area. Their role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with a focus on customer satisfaction. Guest Service Agents often collaborate with housekeeping, management, and other departments to meet guests' needs and ensure a smooth operation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a guest service agent?

To thrive as a Guest Service Agent, you need strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with property management systems (PMS), reservation software, and basic office tools is essential.
