Guest Associate information

What is a guest associate?

Guest Associates are professionals who assist and interact with guests in settings such as hotels, resorts, or customer service environments. Their main responsibilities include greeting guests, handling check-ins and check-outs, addressing inquiries, and providing information or services to ensure a positive guest experience. Guest Associates act as the first point of contact and play a key role in customer satisfaction, often resolving issues and coordinating with other staff to meet guest needs.

How does a guest associate typically collaborate with other departments to enhance the guest experience?

Guest Associates regularly work alongside housekeeping, maintenance, and front desk teams to ensure each guest's stay is smooth and enjoyable. This collaboration involves promptly communicating guest requests or concerns, coordinating room readiness, and sharing feedback to improve services. Exceptional communication, patience, and problem-solving abilities help you create a welcoming environment and efficiently address guest needs. These skills are vital to ensuring a positive guest experience, repeat business, and smooth daily operations.

BALLAST WAX · EUROPEAN WAX CENTER

Guest Service Associate

Be the face. Set the tone. Make it memorable.

358 W Army Trail Rd, Bloomingdale IL 60108 · In-Person · Full-Time & Part-Time Available

THE OPPORTUNITY

You're not just answering phones. You're setting the tone for every guest who walks through our doors.

As a Guest Service Associate at European Wax Center, you are the face of the brand. You're the first impression, the warm welcome, and the reason guests come back. You'll educate guests on our services and products, keep the front desk running smoothly, and help build a center culture that people genuinely love being part of.

We're Ballast Wax, a fast-growing multi-unit EWC franchisee. Whether you're building a career in beauty and wellness or looking for a role where your energy and personality are actually valued - this is a place where showing up with a great attitude and a guest-first mindset gets noticed and rewarded.

WHAT WE OFFER

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly base rate starting at $16
  • Performance commissions and bonuses - adding $3–$7 to your effective hourly rate
  • Goals are realistic and attainable - our team hits them

Benefits - Full-Time (30+ Hours/Week)

  • Medical and supplemental insurance

Benefits - All Team Members (Full-Time & Part-Time)

  • 401(k) with employer match - available to all team members regardless of hours
  • Paid time off (amount varies by role and tenure)
  • 50% off EWC waxing services - because you should experience what you're selling
  • 40% off EWC skincare products
  • Earn STRUT Bucks through performance - redeem toward services and products, potentially making them FREE

Growth & Development

  • Ongoing training and skill development
  • Real path to growth - many of our ACMs and CMs started at the front desk

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Guest Experience

  • Warmly greet every guest with professionalism and genuine enthusiasm
  • Educate guests on services, policies, and what to expect during their visit
  • Answer phones, manage the reservation book, and handle guest inquiries
  • Create an environment guests want to return to - and tell their friends about

Sales & Goal Achievement

  • Educate every guest on EWC Wax Pass savings, products, and promotions
  • Confidently communicate the benefits of waxing frequency and skincare products
  • Consistently meet or exceed individual sales and rebooking goals
  • Actively contribute to center-wide performance targets

Team Collaboration & Operations

  • Support opening and closing procedures and daily administrative tasks
  • Accurately process transactions and manage guest profiles through POS
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby and front desk area
  • Participate in ongoing training and team meetings

WHO YOU ARE

Guests remember how you made them feel. You make it count.

  • You light up a room. Your energy is warm, genuine, and professional - and guests feel it the moment they walk in.
  • You're comfortable selling without being pushy. You educate, you recommend, and you let the value speak for itself.
  • You go above and beyond. You have a real example of a time you made a guest feel genuinely taken care of - not just served.
  • You can handle a busy front desk. Phones ringing, guests checking in, a question mid-transaction - you stay calm and get it done.
  • You're a team player. You show up, pitch in, and make the people around you better.
  • You're available when guests are - evenings and weekends included. Part-time and full-time schedules available.

OUR HIRING PROCESS

Three steps. No runaround.

  1. Step 1 - Video Interview: A quick conversation about your experience, availability, and why EWC.
  2. Step 2 - Experience the Center: Come in as a guest. See what we're about from the inside.
