Position Summary

The Safety Specialist will develop and monitor safety and health programs, provide technical safety, ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations for Guardian Protection.Coordinate with the insurance company on all aspects of the claims process. Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis as required.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide health and safety leadership and direction to Guardian Protection.
  • Update existing safety programs and policies as required, as well as develop and provide necessary safety training manuals.
  • Drive compliance with all relevant safety and health regulations.
  • Support management to improve, appraise and implement safety functions in operations.
  • Engage with employees through field visits and observations.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections.
  • Organize and conduct safety training as necessary.
  • Serve as the primary contact on health and safety issues.
  • Review and analyze incidents and claims to determine if corrective action is necessary.
  • Conduct incident investigations and lead root cause analysis as required.
  • Track and drive corrective actions to completion.
  • Monitor fleet safety compliance and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage and maintain compliance with all commercial customer contractor requirements.
  • Monitor all lost time accidents to ensure prompt return to work by the injured employee. Coordinate with insurance claims adjustor, nurse case manager, and physicians on appropriate return to work restrictions.
  • Coordinate with the insurance carriers and internal Claims Specialist ensuring proper follow-up to all claims.
  • Support safety and health initiatives of the parent company as necessary.

What You'll Need:

  • Requires a 4-year degree in Safety Science or related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to lift 5+ pounds upon occasion
  • Comfort level working in industrial settings on occasion
  • Valid driver's license
  • Up to 30% travel
