The purpose of this job description is to provide a guide by which you and the management at GTS Distribution may measure your progress and ability to meet our commitments.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Buyer is responsible for coordinating the purchase of materials both internal and external; monitors product tracking to delivery and alerts teams of issue before they become problems; building and submitting vendor inventory reports; and coordinate to setup new skus and maintain the product database.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Collects warehouse feedback for corporate purchasing. 
• Creates and submits purchase orders to vendors; maintains communication as needed to delivery. 
• Prepares required inventory reports and submits to vendors. 
• Maintains vendor compliance with company policies with respect to invoices, tracking, etc. 
• Facilitate the movement of product to balance out supply and demand. 
• Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement. 
• Monitors incoming information from vendors for product maintenance action items.
• Coordinates with category management, purchasing, accounting, marketing, and sales management as needed with respect to product setup and maintenance.
• Reviews product setup data for continuous improvement.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager. 

• Establish good working relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers and manufacturers, as well as other GTS Distribution team members.
• Foster positive and effective communications and relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers and manufacturers, as well as other GTS Distribution team members.
• Able to process large amounts of information, pay attention to details, establish and work within deadlines and with a sense of urgency, and process information and details accurately.
• Keep up to date on collectible industry trends, developments, and products.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Actively participate and conduct meetings as requested.
• Able to work independently and remotely, while building and maintaining relationships and promoting communications across partner departments and with manufactures, suppliers, vendors and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree in business or accounting preferred, and 1 - 2 years of experience in a related job, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Prior purchasing experience, in a high SKU count B2B environment strongly preferred.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, Sage X3 ERP, Sage Enterprise Intelligence.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work at a computer or desk area for extended periods of time.
• Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must be able to use a computer and see color up close, at distances and including peripheral and depth perception.
