What is GTM recruiting?

GTM Recruiting refers to the process of sourcing, attracting, and hiring talent for Go-to-Market (GTM) roles within an organization. GTM roles typically include sales, marketing, customer success, and other positions that directly impact how a product or service reaches and engages customers. GTM recruiters specialize in understanding the unique skills and experience required for these positions and work closely with business leaders to build high-performing teams. Their work is critical for companies aiming to grow revenue and expand market presence.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a GTM recruiter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a GTM Recruiter, you need a deep understanding of sales, marketing, and customer success roles, along with experience in full-cycle recruiting and talent sourcing. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and recruitment analytics tools is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to build relationships with both candidates and hiring managers are crucial soft skills. These competencies ensure the recruiter can efficiently identify, attract, and secure top GTM talent to drive organizational growth.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in GTM recruiting and how can they be addressed?

GTM recruiting professionals often face the challenge of sourcing candidates with a unique mix of sales, marketing, and technical skills required for go-to-market roles. The competitive market for top talent can make it difficult to fill roles quickly, especially for high-growth startups or companies expanding into new territories. To overcome these challenges, recruiters frequently build strong talent pipelines, leverage employer branding, and work closely with hiring managers to refine job requirements. Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and staying updated on industry trends also helps ensure a more effective and agile recruitment process.

Job description

As a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner, GTM at vCluster Labs, you aren't just filling open requisitions, you are the architect of our commercial team across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. In this role, you will own recruiting for our sales, marketing, and customer facing functions, guiding candidates from the initial talent screen through offer. You will have the unique opportunity to build vCluster Labs' GTM bench across a wide and varied region, as one of the company's first TA hires on the ground in Europe.

As a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner, GTM, your role will include:
  • Full Cycle GTM Recruiting: Own the end to end hiring process for sales, marketing, and customer success roles across EMEA and APAC. You will guide candidates from the initial talent screen through offer, ensuring a seamless flow.

  • Regional GTM Expertise: Serve as our first EMEA based GTM recruiter and build the practices needed to hire commercial talent across a wide and varied region. You will stay closely aligned with the US based People Ops team while adapting to local market norms.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Proactively source and engage passive sales and marketing talent, with particular strength in identifying and closing senior Account Executives. You will build high quality pipelines so we are not relying solely on inbound applicants for critical commercial roles.

  • Data Driven Execution: Champion our structured interview process. You will ensure scorecards are used effectively to reduce bias, maintaining strict data integrity within our ATS, Ashby, to inform hiring decisions.

  • Candidate Experience: Drive an exceptional experience by ensuring transparent communication. You will treat candidates with customer centric speed, ensuring decisions are made in days, not months.

  • Partnership: Collaborate with GTM leaders to define the profile of a winning commercial hire in each market. You will act as a consultant on regional compensation, market trends, and closing strategy, not just an order taker.

This role could be a fit for you if you bring:
  • Experience: You have 5+ years of full cycle recruiting experience, specifically for GTM roles, within a high growth tech startup.

  • Regional Track Record: You have direct experience recruiting senior Account Executives and other commercial talent across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, and you understand how hiring norms shift across those markets.

  • Location and Reach: You are based in Germany and ready to be one of vCluster Labs' first hires on the ground in Europe, working across EMEA, APAC, and US time zones as needed.

  • A Builder Mindset: You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and enjoy refining processes to make them more efficient, especially as you stand up new GTM hiring practices for the region.

  • A Data Centric Approach: You value results over tasks. You use data and analytics to track pipeline health and inform decision making.

  • High EQ and Active Listening: You are an effective communicator who genuinely listens to understand the perspectives of both candidates and hiring managers.

Bonus points for:
  • ATS Proficiency: Experience with Ashby.

  • Language Skills: Fluency in additional European languages beyond English or German.

  • Domain Expertise: Experience recruiting GTM talent for open source technology, developer tools, or infrastructure companies.

  • HR Generalist Background: Experience beyond recruiting, such as HR operations, employee relations, or onboarding, that gives you a broader view of the employee lifecycle.

About vCluster Labs

We are a venture-backed tech startup and the company pioneering Kubernetes virtualization for the AI era. We raised +$30M from top-tier VCs such as Khosla Ventures (first investor in OpenAI, GitLab, Stripe, Doordash) and are in a hyper-growth phase looking for motivated people to complement our team. Our headquarters are in San Francisco (Salesforce Tower), but our team is distributed around the globe and we have a remote-first work culture.

We are the leading platform for operating GPU infrastructure, enabling AI Cloud providers to deliver a hyperscaler-like experience to their customers and AI factories that need to build that same experience for their internal teams. Our platform delivers the full operational stack operators need to run their GPU data centers - managed Kubernetes, fast isolated tenant provisioning, and automated node provisioning and lifecycle management - enabling them to accelerate time to value, reduce operational burden, and maximize the ROI of every GPU.

We're the company behind vCluster, an open-source technology for virtualizing Kubernetes (10k+ GitHub stars, 40M+ virtual clusters created since 2021). Open source is part of our DNA. At KubeCon North America 2025, we launched our Infrastructure Tenancy Platform for AI - a Kubernetes-native framework purpose-built for running AI, ML, and GPU-intensive workloads anywhere, with an NVIDIA-validated reference architecture for DGX systems.

Benefits

We offer the following benefits:

  • Competitive Salary: We offer a competitive compensation package, including equity.

  • Platinum-Level Insurance: Health, dental, vision, and life Insurance, including plans for you and eligible dependents (benefits vary depending on country).

  • Flexible Working Schedule: You have a doctor's appointment or need to head to the supermarket to get groceries at 2pm? We won't have an issue with that. To us, results matter more than clocking in and out at the same time every day.

  • Workplace Flexibility: We're very flexible about where you work. We know things can change in life and we're happy to adjust the work environment for you along the way.

Culture & Values

At vCluster Labs, we value and stand for:

  1. Make it Happen: We have a relentless bias for action and the grit to push through obstacles. We do whatever it takes to figure it out, put in the work, and ruthlessly prioritize the actions that drive measurable impact for the business.

  2. Own the Outcome: We understand that our responsibility doesn't end when a task is checked off; it ends when the value is delivered. We connect our daily individual actions to the broader success of the company and our customers.

  3. Create Wow: We measure success by the experience we generate, both inside and outside the company. For our customers, this means impressive speed and intuitive experiences. For our team, this means going the extra mile to support one another and to continuously drive each other to new heights.

  4. Open Source, Open Mind: We are actively contributing to and maintaining open-source projects. Internally, we foster meritocracy - the strongest ideas win, no matter who or where they come from.

  5. Build Tomorrow's Standards, Intentionally: We don't just ship software; we define the state-of-the-art of tomorrow. We are fearless in tearing down old approaches to build something better, but we are disciplined in how we do it because we know our users rely on our technology to run mission-critical infrastructure platforms.
