Our client is looking to hire Purchasing Manager II

Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Assistant Manager
Hours: 8am - 5pm

Manager is looking for candidates with the following experience:

FDA, chemicals used in the medical device, or pharma industry. Also a candidate with strategic sourcing experience would be ideal.


Detailed Job Description:

Act as support to the Strategic Sourcing Manager for Chemicals in Client's manufacturing plant
Multi-task and problem solve continuity of supply issues within all levels of authority internally (e.g. engineering, operations, marketing, quality and R&D) and externally (suppliers).
Assist in the execution of day to day sourcing activities within the plant (specifications, ASL, etc updates)
Partner with key stakeholders and partners to address technical issues for components and processes
Identify, recommend and execute opportunities to mitigate and reduce risk to support business continuity planning
Identify, recommend and execute opportunities to reduce cost
Identify, recommend and execute opportunities to improve and enhance resource efficiencies (streamline processes, take the "work out", etc)
Manage supplier capabilities including but not limited to capacity planning, tooling and resource investments including inventory management
Upgrade supplier skills (ship-to-stock, emerging technologies, etc.)
Track and manage performance of suppliers and ensure that performance issues are quickly addressed

Qualifications

Education / Experience


Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, operations or equivalent experience
APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) or CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) certification preferred ,or certified member of CIPS(Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply)
7 years Purchasing Manager experience (Responsible for chemicals preferred) in a manufacturing plan for a highly regulated organization
7 years of Materials / Supply Chain experience is required.
