Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking a mid-level Facilities Maintainer & GSA Locksmith to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area.
Key Duties:
GSA Locksmithing:
  • Service, install, diagnose, and certify GSA-approved locks and containers (X-07, X-08, X-09, X-10, and Unicam/Simplex).
  • Disassemble and repair complex locking mechanisms on doors, safes, and vaults

FOM Locksmithing:
  • Execute key fabrication, maintain high-security locking mechanisms, and troubleshoot mechanical gates and
  • security hardware.
  • Door hinges, seals, closures and access control.

System Inspections:
  • Conduct regular equipment and system inspections.
  • Troubleshoot issues with access control hardware.

Security Support:
  • Implement secure facility procedures and escorting protocols while maintaining physical security controls in restricted areas.

Structural Execution:
  • Perform carpentry, masonry, sheet metal fabrication, and repairs for secure doors, walls, floors, and windows.

Building Maintenance:
  • Perform foundational HVAC maintenance (e.g., filter/belt changes), minor troubleshooting, and general plumbing repairs to support daily facility operations

Infrastructure Support:
  • Manage minor movement and reconfiguration of secure furniture/container and maintain FOM shop tools and power equipment.

Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant, please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your driver's license or state ID.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • 2 or more years of professional experience in structural maintenance, renovation, or high-security construction.
  • Familiarity with badging systems, security hardware, and the enforcement of secure facility procedures.
  • Proficient in the safe use of manual and power tools common in the construction and maintenance trades.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and operate in outdoor environments with extreme temperatures and dusty conditions.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • 1 or more of the following certifications: Locksmith Certification, Lock Program Security Training, or basic ICD 705 familiarity.
  • Experience working with U.S. Military engineering or facilities maintenance units is highly preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with external vendors for minor system maintenance and repairs.
  • Experience in HVAC/R, Structural.
