What is a growth?

A Growth role focuses on driving the expansion of a company's user base, revenue, or market presence through data-driven strategies and experimentation. Professionals in this role often work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for growth, run tests, and optimize the customer journey. Their primary goal is to accelerate business metrics by analyzing data, improving processes, and implementing creative solutions. Growth roles can include job titles like Growth Manager, Growth Marketer, or Growth Product Manager.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a growth manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Growth Manager, you need expertise in data analysis, digital marketing, and strategic planning, often supported by a degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Familiarity with analytics platforms like Google Analytics, marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot), and A/B testing software is typically required. Creativity, adaptability, and strong communication skills help Growth Managers identify opportunities and collaborate across teams. These abilities are crucial for driving user acquisition, retention, and revenue growth in a competitive market.

How does a growth professional typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive company objectives?

Growth professionals work closely with marketing, product, sales, and data teams to identify and implement strategies that accelerate user acquisition, engagement, and retention. They often lead experiments, analyze data to uncover opportunities, and coordinate initiatives that require input from multiple departments. This collaborative approach helps ensure that growth strategies are aligned with broader company goals and that resources are leveraged effectively. Regular communication and project management skills are crucial for success in this dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job description

  • Grow and Expand Existing Relationships: Build and grow a portfolio of regional agency and brand partners by leveraging your existing network and developing new strategic relationships. Expand client investment by introducing broader cross-platform media solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Consultative Sales: Help clients move beyond single-platform buying by offering tailored media strategies across CTV, video, display, audio, retail media, and other digital channels. Position AI Digital as a strategic partner rather than a platform vendor.
  • Business Development: Identify new revenue opportunities within your territory, proactively prospect priority accounts, and build a healthy pipeline of mid-market advertisers and agencies.
  • Own the Sales Process: Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through proposal development, negotiation, and long-term account growth. Collaborate closely with Planning, Client Services, and Operations teams to deliver successful client outcomes.
  • Represent AI Digital in the Market: Leverage your industry relationships and knowledge of the media landscape to establish AI Digital as a trusted partner for advertisers seeking more flexible, cross-platform media solutions. Represent AI Digital at local market, regional, and industry events, including networking functions, trade shows, client events, and community organizations, to strengthen brand awareness, build strategic relationships, and generate new business opportunities.

  • 5+ Years of Media Sales Experience: Proven success selling advertising solutions to agencies and brands, ideally within local, regional, or national media organizations.
  • Established Book of Business: Experience managing a portfolio of approximately $3M+ in annual advertising revenue, with strong existing relationships across agencies and mid-market brands.
  • Full-Funnel Media Expertise: Experience selling integrated advertising solutions, including CTV and digital media. You understand how different channels work together throughout the customer journey and can confidently position holistic media strategies.
  • Strong Consultative Selling Skills: Comfortable leading strategic client conversations, uncovering business objectives, and recommending customized media solutions that drive growth.
  • Business Development Mindset: Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop new business, expand existing partnerships, and consistently exceed revenue goals.
  • CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar tools to manage pipeline and sales activity.
  • Excellent Communication & Relationship Management: Strong executive presence with the ability to build trust, influence decision-makers, and collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partners.
