Summary / Job Purpose

The Program Manager is responsible for underwriting and managing profitable program business within an assigned territory, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements. This role oversees the full lifecycle of program evaluation, onboarding, monitoring, and performance management while serving as a key liaison between Program Administrators and internal stakeholders.

Essential Functions

  • Manage relationships with external Program Administrators to ensure programs are structured and operating in compliance with admitted market requirements.
  • Conduct market research on proposed programs and industry trends to develop recommendations on entering new program niches.
  • Oversee assigned program business throughout the evaluation, onboarding, and ongoing monitoring stages of the program lifecycle.
  • Actively monitor Program Administrators' underwriting activities to ensure adherence to delegated underwriting authority, approved pricing methodologies, and state/bureau filing standards.
  • Review, evaluate, and recommend updates to program underwriting guidelines in collaboration with MSMM Product Line Managers to ensure alignment with MSMM risk appetite.
  • Monitor underwriting profitability and production results for assigned programs and develop action plans, including rate adjustments when necessary.
  • Serve as the referral underwriter for risks exceeding the Program Administrator's delegated authority.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development team to design and refine programspecific coverage offerings.
  • Oversee the underwriting components of multidisciplinary program audits.
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure timely receipt and accuracy of bordereau data, as applicable.
  • Complete Program Underwriting Unit projects and adhoc requests in a timely and accurate manner.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications/Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CPCU designation or other insurancerelated coursework preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines underwriting experience required.
Salary: The base pay range is $120,000.00-125,000.00 . Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
