POSITION TITLE: Manager, E-Commerce & Marketplaces

REPORTS TO: Chief of Strategy

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Manager of E-Commerce & Marketplaces is responsible for driving and optimizing the company’s e-commerce business across its websites, digital marketing channels, customer service function, Amazon, and other online marketplaces. Working in partnership with executive leadership, this position will help shape e-commerce strategy and turn business priorities into clear plans and coordinated execution across internal teams and external partners.The Manager will provide direction to the teams supporting e-commerce and customer experience, manage key marketplace and agency relationships, and use performance data to identify opportunities and improve results. This position will also work closely with Planning, Sales, IT, and other business partners to support profitable revenue growth, strengthen customer experience, and continually improve e-commerce performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the day-to-day management and ongoing development of the company’s e-commerce business across the website, digital marketing, customer service, and other online marketplaces (i.e Amazon).Develop and coordinate e-commerce promotional and campaign plans, including timing, offers, product priorities, channel support, and execution.Manage relationships with Amazon resellers and other third-party online marketplace partners, working with them on growth plans, promotions, pricing, inventory priorities, and channel performance.Provide leadership and oversight for the customer service team, including coaching, issue escalation, workload prioritization, and continuous improvement of processes and customer experience.Provide direction to the digital marketing function and work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to align paid media, email, earned media, and campaign activity with e-commerce priorities.Use Triple Whale and other reporting tools to evaluate e-commerce and marketing performance, understand attribution, identify opportunities or concerns, and recommend adjustments to strategy and execution.Work cross-functionally with Planning, Sales, and IT to align promotional activity, inventory, marketplace needs, website improvements, and broader business priorities.Identify opportunities to improve conversion, retention, average order value, repeat purchasing, and the overall online customer journey.Manage relevant agencies, technology providers, and external partners, ensuring priorities, deliverables, and recommendations support the company’s e-commerce objectives.Stay current on e-commerce, digital marketing, customer experience, Amazon, and marketplace trends, and recommend relevant opportunities for the business.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Collaborate cross-functionally with other areas of the business such as operations, supply chain, and finance to ensure company’s targets are achieved.Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience optimizing and executing E-Commerce & Marketplace sales strategies and utilizing quantitative and qualitative analysis to deliver strategic results.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role such as a Manager/Supervisor overseeing the functions of a marketing/Ecommerce teamComprehensive knowledge of the eCommerce digital landscape including web applications, site merchandising, SEO, social media, email marketing, and relevant KPI reporting.
  • A proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving profitable revenue growth.Preferred Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, computer science, or a related fieldMust be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, database management, spreadsheet creation, email, and internet.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and leadership skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with CRM software and sales analytics tools.Ingredients or CPG food & beverage industry experience a plus.
  • Experience with BigCommerce, Zendesk and Amazon Seller Central preferred.
  • Experience working alongside and with a customer service team is preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee a team of 2-5 professionals.
  • Provides constructive and timely feedback to improve performance to employees.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

TRAVEL:

  • You may travel to shows, conventions, conferences as requested by the business.
  • 5-10% travel
