Job Purpose and Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of Team Member's engaged in receiving, storing, selecting, and delivering bakery products in a cost-effective manner.
What will you do as an Operations Manager at Dawn Foods?
  • Lead all distribution center operations, including both warehouse and transportation functions, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient service to customers while meeting operational, financial, and team performance objectives.
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development to exempt-level leaders, including Transportation and Warehouse Supervisors/Managers, while holding leaders accountable for safety, service, productivity, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.
  • Serve as the site leader for transportation compliance, ensuring adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and company regulations related to driver qualification files (DQFs), CDL requirements, medical certifications, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and drug and alcohol testing programs.
  • Partner closely with Corporate Safety, DOT Compliance, and Human Resources teams to ensure transportation compliance programs are executed effectively and all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain a strong safety culture by proactively identifying risks, investigating incidents, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring all transportation and warehouse team members are trained and operating in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee driver operations, delivery schedules, route execution, fleet utilization, and transportation performance metrics to ensure exceptional customer service and on-time delivery performance.
  • Lead warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, replenishment, order fulfillment, shipping, sanitation, food safety, and overall facility efficiency.
  • Manage staffing, succession planning, performance management, coaching, hiring, promotion, and disciplinary decisions for transportation and warehouse team members within scope of responsibility.
  • Drive accountability throughout the operation by establishing clear expectations, reviewing operational metrics, and developing action plans that improve safety, compliance, service, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Ensure facility readiness for internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews while maintaining accurate records and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage warehouse and transportation operating expenses and partner with the District Market Leader in the development and execution of annual operating budgets.
  • Investigate and resolve customer concerns related to delivery service, driver performance, product handling, shipment delays, and operational execution.
  • Oversee the maintenance, utilization, and procurement of warehouse material handling equipment, tractors, trailers, and other operational assets.
  • Champion Dawn's culture and values by fostering an engaged, inclusive, and accountable work environment focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What Does It Take to be an Operations Manager at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) accredited, or in lieu of degree equivalent professional experience.
  • 3 years' operations management experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both in written and oral form.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Dawn people.
  • Training/background in problem solving and conflict resolution.

Compensation
The base salary for this position is $93,240 - $149,180 with bonus eligibility.
